“When the City of Charlotte first embarked upon our exploration of electric vehicles, we were overwhelmed with choices, strategies and decisions. As a consultant, Stan Cross patiently and methodically helped our environmental program develop a sound plan and gave us insight into what we should consider when transitioning to an all electric fleet. Today, the City of Charlotte is committed to transitioning over 3,800 fleet vehicles to all electric by 2030. Stan's input and consulting has helped us build a solid foundation that will help us achieve that goal. Not only is he knowledgeable and an excellent mentor but he's a fantastic human being that is committed to making our world a cleaner, healthier and more resilient place. ”

On January 7, 2022, Governor Roy Cooper signed Executive Order 246, setting the course for North Carolina’s continued work to reduce economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions, advance environmental justice, and create good-paying jobs throughout the state. In addition to setting updated goals for emission reductions and the total number of registered Zero Emission Vehicles, the order instructs the NC Department of Transportation to develop a Clean Transportation Plan (NCCTP) within 15 months of the order. The primary objective of the process for developing the NCCTP will be to work with stakeholders to collaboratively develop a list of actionable policy and programmatic efforts to decarbonize the North Carolina transportation sector rapidly. -
