In every home, every school, every hospital, every building, we’re surrounded by products and materials, from the roof overhead to the paint on the walls to the carpeting underfoot. And each of those products typically contains any number of ingredients that are difficult to understand and even more difficult to manage. Several organizations have formed the Harmonization Task Group to accelerate optimization and transparency. In the built environment, there is significant movement around alignment and sharing resources to make it easier for manufacturers to examine and optimize their products for human and environmental health. Aptly named the Harmonization Task Group, organizations including the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, the Healthy Building Network, Health Product Declaration Collaborative, and Clean Production Action are joining together and embracing a collaborative effort to disclose building product ingredients and streamline the process of adopting safe alternatives.
