You’re looking for a mentor in software development. What qualities should you prioritize?
A mentor is typically someone who provides guidance on a broad range of topics, including personal and professional development. They come from in- or outside of the organization, and they often have expertise in a particular field. Mentors provide support, feedback, and encouragement, but they are not in a position to advocate for their mentees within the organization. Sponsor, on the other hand, is someone who actively advocates for their protégé’s career advancement within the organization. Sponsors are typically higher up in the organization and have the influence and power to open doors and create opportunities for their protégés. Sponsors' focus is on helping their protégés achieve their career goals within the organization.

You’re a junior software developer. How can you get your senior colleagues to take you seriously?
Don't think of as junior or senior. Think of as someone who would solve more complex problems or solving probkems faster. If you look it this way, you would figure out quickly whether you are fit for the role and also you would close the gap between junior and senior faster.
