Burnout can also happen even when a top performer is doing well! Sometimes burnout can happen as a result of being in a role that is super repetitive and there isnt room to contribute your creativity. When you are forced to read the same script over and over again, it can lead to a sense of boredom that even the top performing sales reps may experience. I have seen individual contributors that perform at the highest level and consistently achieve their goals start to be way less patient and resilient as a result of dreading the repetitiveness of their role. Best advice is to allow some latitude that will empower reps who perform well as a result of their creativity.

I think that a good tactic to use when a buyer is asking for a discount is to let them know how much that requires out of you to get the approval to give one. This will make the client value your efforts and be more inclined to offer their effort in return. That can be in the form of a referral or a testimonial that will either open up the door for new business or at the bare minimum improve your reputation as an organization.
