Village Up San Diego is a collaborative initiative to increase diversity and access to the San Diego startup tech ecosystem. We have an incredible group of active members who come together to identify existing barriers to entrepreneurship from underserved communities and develop pathways to overcome them. This year, we're focused on three main initiatives: 1. creating a map of the ecosystem, so we can figure out where there are gaps and champion existing efforts; 2. determining whether we can support local organizations by providing a "badge" certifying their commitment to diversity; and 3. providing content about relevant topics and sharing partner programming and resources. VBS aims to teach more about God and His “wild” love for his children through active learning, interactive games, hands-on crafts, fun music, service-learning, and a chance to make new friends, We anticipate attendance of over 300 children & adult volunteers, reaching over 200 families!

I am in charge of corporate donations for the camp, relationship building with local venues to bring them more traffic from our church goers, and bring happy smiles to kids who attend VBS.

Serving through also being the Breakfast Lead, my family and I (along with another service-filled family), serve over 200 volunteers a hearty breakfast before starting their VBS day. We also invite children from low income housing near our church to come for a warm breakfast every day of their VBS experience. Show less
