    I was responsible for generating a relationship with ESPN from scratch. With no pre-existing connection to any parties involved in the event, my job was to identify the appropriate entry point and explore any potential opportunities for new business.     I was responsible for generating a relationship with ESPN from scratch. With no pre-existing connection to any parties involved in the event, my job was to identify the appropriate entry point and explore any potential opportunities for new business. I prospected ESPN directly and hit various walls. My break came from reaching out to previous X-Games event venues, eventually connecting with a person who served as the venue point of contact for ESPN. After a successful cold call with one of the directors at ESPN, my team and I delivered multiple presentations to leadership. Over the course of the ensuing months, we were able to narrow down a handful of areas where our firm could be valuable as a partner. We pitched a set of designs and were chosen to install a number of brand activations and a special VIP activation at US Bank Stadium. The relationship between Star and ESPN proved extremely lucrative for Star, and they were able to leverage my relationships into multiple years of business.
