#ICYMI - A huge thank you to Penny Lee, President and CEO of the Financial Technology Association, and Daniel Gorfine, Senior Advisor of the Financial Technology Association and Founder and CEO of Gattaca Horizons LLC for joining this week's Navigator workshop to discuss the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's proposed rule on open banking and its potential impact on alternative data. The workshop walked through the CFPB's proposed new regulations for financial data sharing under open banking like consumer transaction data, introducing robust consumer consent for data transmission to third parties through secure APIs. In particular, the speakers highlighted the proposed ban on secondary data usage, including alternative data supply for investment use cases which is top of mind for our client base. Concerns were also raised about the rule’s impact on innovation and the aggressive timeline for compliance without established technical standards. This is certainly a topic to keep an eye on over the summer months as it is an election year and while the CFPB is in the Supreme Court. #AlternativeData #DataCompliance Dallán R.
