Mr. Santosh Sridhar almost got scammed on 30.04.2024. Luckily he didn't lost money, But he lost his Valuable Contacts, Photos and other Valuable information and which were posted by Cyber Fraudsters in Darknet. It seems like there's been an incident involving an employee of Deloitte India Ex- Wipro whose data was exploited by fraudsters impersonating various authorities like TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) and Mumbai Police. Let's break it down: He got a call from a man who said he was from TRAI and her number would be deactivated within 2 hours due to fraudulent activity. “If you want to save your number and a lot of women were complaints against him at Mumbai Police Station, you have to talk to the Mumbai police.” And he replied to them he is staying in Hyderabad not in Mumbai He panicked, and the call was transferred. They instructed her to get on a Skype call. A man in uniform with “Mumbai Police” on their Skype ID began questioning her. They asked if anyone was around him, and since he was alone, the police officer instructed her to show him surroundings to verify that no one was present. During a brief break amidst the interrogation, he called me worried, telling me that there was an FIR against her and that he was going to be interrogated further on a call with Mumbai police station 2661. I immediately asked her to block the number or ignore it when it rang again. It was an elaborate scam. Until a couple of years ago, our concerns were unwanted calls from credit card, insurance, and loan sellers. These days, scam calls have taken a lion's share of that market. The scams have become advanced, making it harder for common people to identify the fraud. They act with perfection. First they isolate the target, then instill fear, and ultimately push them to make rushed decisions. I was wondering about the acquisition cost, gross margin, and EBITDA for these scams. They’re organized like a business, and it's insane how much effort they put into moving the target from prospecting to closure. How much is it all worth? Let his saga be a clarion call, echoing through the corridors of decision-makers and dreamers alike. It speaks volumes about the unforgiving nature of ignorance and the imperative of accountability. In the mosaic of capability, let us remember that without the adhesive of responsibility, the most brilliant of talents can crumble into ruins. Thus, let us heed Mr. Sridhar's tale as a solemn oath: ignorance is never an excuse for stupidity, and capability must always walk hand in hand with accountability. Client Mr. Santosh became the unwitting victim of a dire incident due to his carelessness and negligence. As a result, he fell prey to fraudsters who exposed all his data on the darknet. How you are finding this theoretical solution can be implemented? Is the only one way to get the otp from phone of user? Answer is clearly no there are many ways in which attacker can bypass this technology and can get otp. Any suggestion on this new technology of banking sector to stop fraud more than 1.3b dollar India lost from 2021 to 2023.
