Recently discovered that Bill Swanson, the former CEO of Raytheon, popularized "The Waiter Rule": 👉 "If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they're not really a nice person." He also warns to "watch out for people who have a situational value system, who can turn the charm on and off depending on the status of the person they are interacting with." I feel like recruiters are in a similar intermediary / service-oriented role, except instead of restaurant hospitality it's the hospitality of hiring. So how a candidate interacts with a recruiter, and whether there's something in it for them or not, can reveal a lot about situational vs core value systems. Have you ever seen someone break "The Waiter Rule", and if so then on a scale of 1-10, how much ick did it give you? 😅 #chiefofstaff #recruiting

We Must Stop Predatory Companies from Scamming Veterans Seeking Disability Benefits | Military.com Please reach out to your state and federal reps on this issue. Some of veteran leaders are working on this as part of an effort at the AZ State Capital. Chuck Byers, Rich Kreiberg and I are among the active members. We believe there is a solution at the Federal level but that may be tough due to lobbyists. There is a split in the AZ legislative branches on how closely or hands off to act on this issue. The issue is that reps can go into assisted living facilities or to resource fairs, set up appointments and be paid to submit a VA claim. Even when they know the veteran or a spouse, usually elderly vets on a fixed income are favorite targets. They get paid a thousand dollars, submit a claim that they know the VA will deny as the vet/spouse doesnt qualify. I am all for marketplace and free enterprise but there is a hint of amoral behavior in this. such as those people who charge $200 to get a DD214 which a vet can get for free. Elderly Veterans and their families are the number 1 targets for Fraudsters across the board. Please share this article. There is a group of lawyers and a veterans related lobbyist firm with members who have shady credentials are working to allow these claim sharks to work unimpeded in AZ.
