Now that my first year in the Brown University Department of Computer Science is finished, I thought that I would share some positive updates about my experience on campus! 💻 This past semester I took Design of Computing Systems. The main goal of this course is to learn about the fundamentals of computer architecture. Expertise in the subject is proven through a series of projects that culminates in a multi-staged, pipelined processor using RISC-V ISA on a Cyclone V FPGA. My work in this course resulted in a processor that set the all-time record at Brown University, with a processor that operated at 320 MHz. ⚡ In the fall, I took Embedded Microprocessor Design. This course teaches the fundamentals of embedded hardware and software design. The course lasted the entire year, and is centered around a ground-up embedded design project. I, along with Tengfei Jiang and David Owoade, created a portable radio delay device that can be used to synchronize radio broadcasts with televised sports. In the twenty-year history of the course, we were the first group to finish the year with a fully-functional, finalized design. In addition, we already have 2 (!) paying customers for our product! 🎵 Another project that I am proud of is Automated Graphics for Contemporary Performance. This project was used to satisfy the requirements for Real-Time Systems. This project is an automated graphics generator that can be used by electronic music performers in club or festival settings. The system uses digital signal processing techniques, as well as several graphics settings to generate visuals purely based on the music being played. 🧠 Outside of being a student, I got involved on-campus as a Teaching Assistant in the graduate course, Sensors and Actuators for Real Systems. I assisted roughly 20 students with programming STMicroelectronics STM32H7 series microcontrollers for various systems including a BLDC Motor, a 1-D Stepper Motor, and a 2-D Visual Plotter. Additionally, I started research with the BrainGate lab on campus where I am focusing on embedded software within the team. 🔊 So far, my time on campus has been excellent! These experiences have helped prepare me to join Sonos, Inc. this summer as a Software Development Intern. I look forward to applying my undergraduate education in Computer Engineering and Music Technology, and my current graduate education to help innovate in the audio technology industry! This summer I will be releasing a website where detailed documentation and demonstrations of all of my work at Brown University and Penn State University can be found. I am very excited for this summer and my final year at Brown University!

Last week, I was strolling through the Boston Common🚶‍♀️, and the sight of students decked out in graduation gowns, snapping photos with loved ones 👨‍🎓 👩‍🎓 🤳 , reminded me that the graduation season unfolds. Many of us are gearing up to face the challenges of the job market. This year's job search might be particularly tough for fresh graduates. However, I recently had the opportunity to catch up with Elena Raileanu, PHR, SPHR, a seasoned tech recruiter, who generously shared some valuable job hunting tips that I believe are worth sharing. ✍ Leverage Google Jobs: Most of us are bouncing between job boards like LinkedIn, Indeed and others, Elena Raileanu, PHR, SPHR highly recommends Google Jobs as a comprehensive platform. All job posting from various boards eventually flow into Google Jobs, making it a one-stop destination for efficient job hunting. ✍ AI: A Helping Hand: Let's be real, tailoring resumes is a tedious grind.🤯 But Elena Raileanu, PHR, SPHR confirmed that putting in the extra effort is a must. Thankfully, we've got AI tools like ChatGPT(OpenAI), Groq, and my personal fave, Claude(Anthropic), to lend a hand. Just remember, we're the bosses here - review and tweak that AI output to keep it authentic to your fabulous self. My personal trick is fine-tuning by multiple models. 💅 ✍ Don't Self-Reject: In today's competitive market, job openings can attract thousands of applicants within a day.😭 Some advise against applying if the applicant count seems high, assuming your resume would never be seen. Elena Raileanu, PHR, SPHR dismissed this notion, stating that many applicants are unqualified and apply indiscriminately using bots. Recruiters are still struggling to find the right fit, so don't sell yourself short! If you're a good match for the role, go for it,👊 no matter what. So there you have it, props to Elena Raileanu, PHR, SPHR for the awesome tips. 🙏 As we tackle this job hunt, let's stay motivated, strategic, and put our best foot forward. We've got this! 🤗

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my journey through the Summer Internship interview process so far. It's been quite a rollercoaster ride. After sending out applications to over 500 companies, I managed to secure interviews with four of them. Two were one-way interviews, while the other two were with Chipotle and Tubi (owned by Fox Corporation). These interviews marked my debut in the corporate world. As a recent graduate, I sought guidance from experienced individuals around me, with me being eager to excel in the interviews and embark on a journey of learning within the world of Data along with an aim to contribute my skills to the company's success and also to absorb as much knowledge and learnings as possible. So after, advancing to the final interview round with Chipotle and Tubi felt like inching closer to realizing one of my many aspirations. However, receiving a rejection after being interviewed by the Senior Manager left me in a state of reflection, wondering over where I might have lacked my responses. There were instances where I recognized I could have provided a much better responses. On the morning of the interview day, facing rejection was something I hadn't anticipated. Yet, it's part of the journey. These are the moments where you learn from your mistakes and come again with much better preparation. But I am proud of myself, that I could reach this far and learn from such rejection. Though it takes a lot of mental tolls on you to accept such rejection, this is what life is you need to KEEP BELIEVING and it is also said that the Game is not over until the last ball is bowled(in Cricket). Reflecting on this experience, I recall the words of MS Dhoni: "Focus on the Process, Result is just the by-product of the Process”. And yes, I’ll keep learning and improving and keep on trying till the very last day.. So that, I’ll be able to get closer to achieving what I have once Dreamt of. 🌟 Reflecting on an Incredible First Year in College! 🌟 As my first year in college comes to a close, I’m thrilled to share some of the exciting milestones and experiences I’ve had: 1. Mastered Python, C, and C++ : building a strong foundation in programming languages that power many of today’s technologies. 2. Solved nearly 80 LeetCode questions in my second semester alone, pushing my problem-solving skills to new heights. 3. Embarked on my app development journey, diving into the world of mobile, using Flutter. 4. Explored Figma, developing a keen interest in UI/UX design and creating user-friendly interfaces. 5. Selected for GirlScript Summer of Code, opening doors to incredible learning opportunities and real-world projects. 6. Currently thriving as a Summer Research Intern at Vellore Institute of Technology, gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge research. 7. Explored a multitude of software, frameworks, and libraries, broadening my technical toolkit and understanding of different technologies. 8. Achieved 16th place out of ~540 teams in our first-ever hackathon : teamwork and innovation at its best! 9. Participated in my first CTF (Capture The Flag) recently, challenging my cybersecurity skills and learning new strategies. 10. Delved into machine learning, and excited to write my own ML models this summer, expanding my knowledge in AI. 11. Part of Google Developer Student Club, VIT Chennai's management team, which won the award for 'Best Technical Club 2023-24', contributing to our community’s success and growth. 🚀 Wrapping up an incredible Spring semester at UIC! 🚀 As a Computer Science major at the University of Illinois Chicago, I am immensely grateful for the amazing opportunities and exposure I have received from our vibrant campus community. This semester has been a fantastic journey, and I am excited to continue supporting and involving myself in activities that contribute to the betterment of our community and the development of my skills. This semester has been transformative, enhancing my communication and socializing skills, organizational and time management skills, and deepening my interest in managing group events and activities. Here are some highlights: 1. Organized the SparkHacks Hackathon: As a planning team member, I helped organize UIC's second collegiate hackathon, which saw over 100 students participate. UIC Commuter Center Advisory Board: For the second semester in a row, I was part of the advisory board advocating for the betterment of campus activities for the 90% commuter student population at UIC. 🚍🏙️ 3. 🚀 I have an all-new Personal Portfolio! 🚀 Over the past half-year, I have dramatically grown my skills across the board. I landed my first (and second) tech internship, graduated with my Associate Degree in Computer Science, and created some of my coolest personal projects to date.
