    honor description Since 1998, Austin’s Young Women’s Alliance (YWA) and the Young Men’s Business League (YMBL) have partnered to host one of the city’s premier awards events, Austin Under 40 (AU40). During an evening of prestige and celebration, recognition is paid to emerging Austinites who both lead their respective industries and exhibit a solid commitment to serving their community. These individuals are recognized in 14 categories: Arts, Sports, Media & Entertainment; Business & Entrepreneurship; Community Service & Non-profit; Culinary Arts & Hospitality; Energy & CleanTech; Engineering, Architecture & Design; Financial Services & Insurance; Government & Public Affairs; Legal; Marketing, Public Relations & Advertising; Medicine, Healthcare & Sciences; Real Estate; Technology & Startup; and Youth & Education.     Lawyers of Color has named 100 minority attorneys from the Southwest Region to its Second Annual Hot List, which recognizes early- to mid-career minority attorneys excelling in the legal profession. These distinguished attorneys were feted at a reception at the Dallas office of Jones Day on July 16th. The honorees, who are in-house counsel, government attorneys, and law firm associates and partners, were chosen through a two-pronged process. The selection committee spent months reviewing…

These distinguished attorneys were feted at a reception at the Dallas office of Jones Day on July 16th. The honorees, who are in-house counsel, government attorneys, and law firm associates and partners, were chosen through a two-pronged process. The selection committee spent months reviewing nominations and researching bar association publications and legal blogs in order to identify promising candidates. Nominations from mentors, peers, and colleagues were accepted.
