The Integration TeamWorks Award is a newly-amended category to acknowledge the extraordinary amount of integration activity this past year.

The Cultural Integration Facilitators

The goal of the Cultural Integration Process was to develop a cultural model that would inspire and unify us after the merger of two distinct companies. It was designed to help us to get to know each other and continue developing the mutual respect that many of us discovered during the integration planning process.

We initiated the Cultural Integration process in July 2006 for directors and above with the help of Cook-Ross consulting. In January 2007, we transitioned to an “in house faculty” model where we asked a few key leaders in our organization to implement the Cultural Integration workshops for all other employees.

The members of this team led 37 different workshops, at various locations (Including one in the UK for some of our international colleagues). This effort has been key in the effort to successfully integrate the Company. Show less

The Leadership Excellence Award for an individual below VP level who has direct supervisory authority over other Company employees for at least one year. Honorees are judged on the following criteria: drive for results, building effective teams, developing direct reports and managing change.

Greg Marlow works in Satellite Operations and Engineering and for many years he has been leading the development and maintenance of our ground infrastructure for the operations of the fleet, which is now one of the best automated in the world, and one we are proud to present to our investors and customers.

The successful integration of satellite operations in the past year was the result of a great teamwork between Satellite Engineers, Satellite controllers, and Greg’s team.
But Greg is outstanding, because of the great leadership he has shown during this past year: he has been an excellent manager for his team both in Long Beach and Washington. He reached out to every employee, whether steady state or transitional, defining clear goals and responsibilities, organizing in detail the transition of activities to the steady state team. He has been delegating and empowering his staff at every occasion.

The Loral Integration Team was responsible for expanding the Intelsat fleet through purchase and integration of 5 Telstar satellites.
