    Senate is composed of ex-officio members – the Chancellor, the President and Vice-Chancellor (who is the Chair of Senate), Vice Presidents (including the Provost), Vice Provosts, Deans, Registrar, and Chief Librarian – as well as fifty-one (51) elected representatives of the University's faculty, students and alumni, and five (5) non-voting Senate Associates.

    I was elected to represent 38,000+ Ryerson students as an At-Large Student Senator.

    What my role was:
    - Represent all 40,000 students enrolled at Ryerson University on the Ryerson Senate
    - Follow the Bourinot's Rules of Order in meetings with ex-officio members such as the President of Ryerson
    - Work with the Senate to determine policies and curricula for all programs, admission and graduation requirements, conducting examinations, awarding certificates, and bachelor's, master's, doctoral and honorary degrees

    The Ryerson Students' Union (RSU) represents 40,000 students at Ryerson University. With elected members and as a student government, the RSU is independent of the university and strives to be a democratic, member-driven organization. The RSU has 2 essential functions: advocating on behalf of the members and providing services to the members. Advocacy consists of lobbying the university and the government, organizing campaigns, and supporting student initiatives. The RSU provides services by running the student health insurance plan, funding campus clubs, and offering grants to students in need. Importantly, the RSU is committed to the principle of equity, and this principle is present in everything that we do.

    What my role was:
    - The ex-officio representative and spokesperson of the Ryerson Senate to the Ryerson Students' Union
    - Participate in the Student Action Committee (SAC) and work with the VP Education in organizing and implementing local, provincial and national education and awareness campaigns on the Ryerson Campus
    - Work on creating and amending academic policies with the RSU to push forward as motions to the Senate
    - Review any matters relating to municipal, provincial, and national education issues

    Building a website for students who have different hard-skills (photography, graphic design, web design, videography, etc.) to upload their portfolios with a description and hourly rate and allow other students who require these hard-skills for their student groups or personal initiatives to connect with each other. The purpose of this platform is to promote the entrepreneurial spirit of Ryerson University and allow students to work with other students no matter what faculty a student is from. The fact of the matter is that, although Ryerson has a strong entrepreneurial spirit, connecting with students between departments is challenging and I hope to strengthen the bond and promote cross-faculty collaborations.

    Creates procedurally generated chemistry questions, allowing users to fine-tune what questions they receive. I built the front-end of the website.

    Built an Android app on Android Studio using few API's such as Google Maps' Distance Matrix API as well as Google's Geofencing API. User sets a location for where they want to go and then sets a radius value thus creating an alarm. The alarm notifies the user when they enter that radius for the location. We believe that using location as an indicator for reaching somewhere is more accurate than time because of possible delays such as traffic, accidents, and inclement weather.

    Built a Facebook Messenger bot using Node.js and built our server on Heroku. User sends a picture of a fruit and using the Clarifai API (image and video recognition API) and Nutritionix API (nutritional values API), the messenger bot replies with the corresponding nutritional values (sugar content, fat, calories, etc.) of that fruit.

    Won the Best Domain Name Award during Yale University's Hackathon for our debate platform project, DisBattere.

    DisBattere comes from the Latin roots of the word "Debate. "Dis" meaning the 'reversal of' ('like' or 'dislike') and "battere" meaning 'to fight'. We aimed to create a platform that did the opposite of fighting and created a platform where people can have a safe space to voice their opinions and learn about other sides.

This individual has helped "Breakthrough" the barrier from highschool to University and intends to continue to break down barriers for their years to come as a student leader at the Ted Rogers School of Management.
