Here's how you can achieve work-life balance while pursuing career success.
Cultivating and investing in relationships is the key to any work-life balance for your entire lifetime. A 85 year study by Harvard University has found that the quality of our relationships is the most important factor in determining our happiness. The study found that people with strong, supportive relationships were happier, healthier, and lived longer than those with weak or troubled relationships. Also, that social fitness, or the ability to build and maintain strong relationships, was more important to a long and happy life than genes, social class, or IQ. I have personally followed this mantra and always tried to have meaningful relationships at work and outside which has led to a fulfilling life.

Here's how you can effectively communicate your vision as an executive manager using storytelling.
Wherever I go around the world - I understand the audience and the message I deliver is tailored to their taste by being "relatable". So, first understand then tell real life stories about your own experiences or your learnings and use the audience frame of reference. So talking to young engineers I stress learning & curiosity & experimentation with technology, talking to young managers - about being brave, courageous, execution oriented and talking to senior leaders about managing teams, being inclusive, driving big goals, strategies with clear vision & communication. I use real examples from my experiences in tech, lighting, healthcare, medical devices, pharma, product & business model innovation & global cultural learnings with anecdotes

Here's how you can cultivate resilience as an executive manager in the face of adversity.
Change is the only constant as they say... and Embracing change is what makes anyone resilient. Being stuck in any role, function, habit or thought process is a recipe for failure. Personally, I have lived in many countries, worked on many different roles, functions, levels and companies/industries to gain confidence to deal with any adversity and mostly am able to navigate my personal and professional life and career with embracing change, being curious and being a problem solver. In summary, "BE THE CHANGE" as Gandhi said... and "The only person you can CHANGE is yourself" as my father always said to me.

What are the best ways to test product prototypes with target customers?
Applying the principles of design thinking - any product or business model innovation requires a set of hypothesis and assumptions about the "perfect" set of "features and benefits" in the prototype. This is then tested specifically with clear objectives and metrics to understand whether the assumptions/hypothesis came true or false (no grey areas). This then results in a validated and verified design from a "needs and voice of the customer" perspective which can then lead to fine tuning and/or pivoting the design concept and gain confidence on the product development process ahead. Ultimately, the iterative nature of testing-tweaking-updating-tinkering-pivoting and arriving at any product or business model is key to this process

Airflex demonstrated its innovative ability to address the unique needs of its customers by developing the 76VC clutch solution, a unique eight-foot (2.4 meters) diameter air actuated clutch for use in grinding mills in the mining industry. The 76 VC is able to transmit 7.3 million lb-inch of torque with 9500 horsepower at 200 rpm.The product is an industry first and can claim the largest drum clutch in the world, which makes it effective, reliable, and efficient.
Frost & Sullivan, a business-consulting firm, presented the award at a ceremony in Boston on July 19th, 2005. Accepting the award on behalf of Eaton were Garry Jennings (Global Sales Manager) and Joe Semaan (International Sales Manager). Ravi Kaushik (Market Manager) had submitted the entry to Frost & Sullivan and presented the details of the product offering to them.
The mining industry had faced the challenge of maintaining profitability and managing operational margins especially during the extraction of minerals. To meet that need, the 76 VC clutch was conceived, developed and shipped out to the customer in record time of 5 months using Eaton PROLaunch, which followed a Phase-Gate Product Development approach that was utilized by a cross-functional team that met weekly during the concept development to ultimately making the end product.
In addition, all the unique features and benefits of the product and total cost of ownership to the customer were considered to value price & market (sell) the 76 VC clutch.
Ravi Kaushik said "This is a great example of using EBS and great tools like PROLaunch, value pricing & value selling to create a timely win-win solution for our customers Eaton Airflex."
