“Rachel is an extremely capable, innovative and caring manager and colleague who is extremely effective at building and maintaining bridges both across organizational units within the company as well as with with external partners. She and her team led the company efforts to convert our standard production flows to ePUB3 and consolidating print and digital workflows, working with editorial, production and operations groups to make it happen. Rachel took responsibility for developing content standards across Macmillan Learning and more than fulfilled the role by developing the standards and procedures as well as participating in W3C and BISG efforts (leading the W3C publishing community group). She made a significant difference with respect to increasing the accessibility of our products and extended outreach to the community through active participation in accessibility groups and by encouraging the company to fund external accessibility programs. In addition to all of this she was able to mentor and develop her staff into individuals recognized around the company for their contributions. I’m very happy to have had the opportunity to work with her.”
