SAP has introduced a new consumption-based commercial model for SAP BTP, 𝐒𝐀𝐏 𝐁𝐓𝐏 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐒𝐀𝐏 𝐁𝐓𝐏𝐄𝐀), set to replace the existing SAP Cloud Platform Enterprise Agreement (CPEA) in the future. ➡️A comprehensive clean-up has been undertaken in the Service Catalog at SAP Discovery Center which now reflects SAP BTPEA. Several services, particularly Neo services, previously deprecated services, and those with low adoption rates, are not included in SAP BTPEA. ➡️SAP BTPEA keeps the same pricing and most general terms as SAP CPEA, including optional EU Access and discount structures. ➡️Existing customers have the option to remain on CPEA for a bit longer, allowing flexibility in migration timelines. However... ➡️Future innovations and new services will be exclusively introduced in SAP BTPEA. The first example is the SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) public system option. This could well be an incentive for customers to initiate their transition from CPEA to BTPEA. ➡️Some services seem to be undergoing reshaping, such as "SAP Task Center", "SAP Data Quality Management, microservices for location data", and so on. They aren't currently listed in the Services Catalog, I believe they will (soon 🤞) be back after official announcements for the updates. ➡️SAP BTPEA introduces a streamlined deprecation policy, possibly one of SAP's main motives for this shift in the business model surrounding SAP BTP. #sapbtp #sapbtpea #sapcommunity

*** So You Think You Can't Run Your Business Without Your Modifications? *** Many SAP modifications can be avoided by following best practices and leveraging the extensive features and functionalities of the SAP ERP system. Here's why modifications can often be unnecessary: - Comprehensive Standard Functionality: SAP S/4HANA offers a wide range of standard functionalities designed to cater to various industries and business processes. By thoroughly exploring and understanding these capabilities, organizations can often find solutions to meet their requirements without resorting to modifications. - Configuration and Customization Options: SAP provides extensive configuration and customization options that allow organizations to tailor the system to their specific needs. Proper configuration and customization enable businesses to adapt the system without modifying the underlying code, ensuring better maintainability and easier system upgrades. - Industry Best Practices: SAP applications are built on industry best practices and standards. By aligning business processes with these best practices, organizations can often avoid the need for modifications and leverage the system's standard functionalities to achieve efficient and effective operations. - Enhancement Frameworks and User Exits: SAP ERP systems offer enhancement frameworks and user exits that allow organizations to enhance or extend the functionality of the standard system without modifying the core code. These frameworks enable the addition of custom logic or integration with external systems while preserving the upgradability and supportability of the SAP ERP system. - Continuous Improvement and Innovation: SAP regularly releases updates, patches, and new functionalities for their ERP systems, especially in cloud-based S/4HANA versions. By staying up-to-date with these releases and leveraging the latest features, organizations can continually improve their processes and avoid the need for extensive modifications. - Partner Solutions and Add-Ons: Many third-party solutions or add-ons developed by SAP partners address specific requirements. These solutions integrate seamlessly with the SAP ERP system, providing additional functionality without the need for modifications. While modifications may sometimes be necessary to meet highly specific or unique requirements, they should be approached with caution. Modifications can introduce complexity, increase implementation and maintenance costs, and make system upgrades more challenging. Organizations should carefully evaluate the necessity and long-term implications of modifications, considering alternative options within the SAP ERP system before proceeding with customization. #sap

Why are ERP solutions so difficult to upgrade and maintain? This is due to customers' customizations of the core product. These customizations were popular and needed so that enterprises could keep existing business processes while adopting commercial ERP solutions. It was the compromise for build vs. buy. The tradeoff was the resulting fragility of the implementation. Customers had to do extensive testing to ensure customizations and, therefore, business processes didn't break. Enter "clean core." Clean core is the concept of customizing the ERP solution with bolt-on enhancements. So, it's critical that companies such as @SAP and @AWSCloud partner to ensure organizations can build around their existing processes while keeping the SAP platform clean so operators can update the platform without concern for customization. Here's a page for AWS' SDK for SAP. https://lnkd.in/g9Gmf4um #SAPSapphire

Some interesting facts: Evaluating Between a SAP System Conversion or a SAP New Implementation: 📄 🖋 Surveys indicate that the proportion of customers adopting a system conversion versus a new implementation is 50/50. ✅ Compatibility Packs Compatibility packs allow customers a path to adapt their existing business processes to new business processes contained as part of SAP S/4HANA in a non-disruptive manner. Customers are permitted for a period to use classic ERP functionalities. As a result, new business processes can be adopted on an incremental basis. ✅ Lift and Shift SAP strongly recommends that customers do not simply "lift and shift" their custom code to a new implementation-based system. Customers still need to undergo the same removal and adaptation process, as well as performance optimization. Using this approach can lead to higher project migration costs than what is necessary. #s4hana #fiori

Harsh Truth about your ERP System {NetSuite... or SAP... or D365…} It won’t ever be perfect. 🤦♂️ Despite meticulous planning and continuous optimization efforts the reality is that they can never be flawless and account for every use case. But do you even want it to be perfect⁉ The pursuit of perfection is a costly endeavor, often leading to overcomplicated processes. The key lies in managing imperfections effectively, not striving for unattainable perfection.

Can you all relate to this ? In most cases these software customizations delay the value delivery and render the product less reliable. In most cases the client project team presents them as a make or break requirement. What has been your experience in dealing with these customizations ?

📌 SAP ACDOCA Explained: A Comprehensive Overview for Beginners Today, let’s draw our attention towards a critical component, which has revolutionised the way we operate within the SAP ecosystem. This component is none other than the Universal Journal, commonly referred to as the ACDOCA table introduced in #SAP #S4HANA Think of ACDOCA as a universal ledger that holds all financial and management accounting data in one place. It’s a single source of truth for your company's financial data. Imagine you own an auto manufacturing company that produces cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Each vehicle type involves different financial transactions – sales, costs, profits, and more. You need a way to consolidate all this data for accurate financial reporting and decision-making. This is where ACDOCA comes into play. 🔺 Here's how it works: 1. Unified Data Storage: ACDOCA combines multiple financial ledgers into one table. It stores detailed financial transactions from General Ledger (GL), Controlling (CO), Asset Accounting (AA), and more. This means whether you're tracking sales revenue from cars or maintenance costs for trucks, all the data resides in one place. 2. Real-time Reporting: Because ACDOCA holds all financial data, you can generate real-time reports without data redundancy. For instance, you can quickly view the total sales revenue and expenses for each vehicle type, enabling timely business decisions. 3. Enhanced Transparency: With all financial transactions in one table, it’s easier to trace back any entry. If you notice an anomaly in the cost of manufacturing motorcycles, you can drill down into ACDOCA to find the exact transaction details, providing complete transparency. 4. Integration with Other Modules: ACDOCA seamlessly integrates with other SAP modules like Sales and Distribution (SD) and Material Management (MM). When a car is sold, the sales data flows into ACDOCA, updating the financial position instantly. Similarly, when materials are procured for trucks, the cost details are captured in ACDOCA. 5. Simplified Processes: By consolidating data, ACDOCA simplifies financial closing processes. You don’t have to reconcile data from different ledgers. This means faster month-end closings and more accurate financial statements. 6. Future-Proof: ACDOCA is designed to handle the complexities of modern business requirements. Setting up ACDOCA in SAP S/4HANA is like setting up a robust foundation for your financial data. It centralizes all your financial transactions, enabling accurate, real-time insights and efficient financial management. -- Found this post informative?
