Excited to share a recent coaching session where I helped my client successfully navigate a tricky situation at work. As a Pharma leader, my client faced a dilemma: the SVP's tempting high-level project offer clashed with the direct manager's reluctance to let go of ongoing tasks. Approaching the situation methodically: - Understanding both Perspectives: Acknowledging the SVP's vision and the manager's concerns was pivotal. - Open Communication: A meeting was arranged, expressing passion for the project while respecting the manager's worries. - Proposing a Win-Win Solution: Balancing commitments by suggesting a transition plan for current responsibilities. - Facilitating Joint Discussions: Clarifying expectations in a collaborative meeting with the SVP and manager. - Documentation: Crucial to summarize discussions for clarity and accountability.
