Driver drowsiness while operating a vehicle is a significant risk factor for preventing road accidents. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it leads to increased reaction times, decreased concentration, slower and sometimes erroneous decision-making, slower or automated movements, and even microsleep episodes, among other impairments.
