What strategies can you use to prepare your team for a major organizational transition?
In my experience, this important step is missed altogether. Assumptions are made based on what we think is happening or why we think something is happening. In LEAN, a key step is the GEMBA walk and a critical step in not only understanding the problem, but also understanding what the impact of a transition or change will be. If we do not truly understand the current process, how can we understand the impact of the transition to a new process? Engage your front line team members and subject matter experts who are the closest to the work for input and do not assume you have all of the information or all of the answers.
