    Accenture and Avanade teamed to provide the client with a complete ‘Greenfield’ infrastructure deployment utilizing the latest Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server 2008 with Hyper-V, Exchange 2007, MOSS 2007, OCS, SQL 2005, ISA 2006, DPM, Vista, SCOM and SCCM.

    Douglas's role was as a database engineer involving the design, delivery and support of a SQL Server 2005 environment to meet the requirements of the client's technology infrastructure. Based on the identified requirements, a Windows Server 2008 Failover Cluster hosting five SQL instances was designed and deployed. This shared SQL Server 2005 solution was leveraged by MOSS 2007, OCS 2007, SCOM, SCCM and numerous client LOB applications. Additionally, a dedicated non-clustered SQL Server was implemented to support the performance requirements of the client’s primary LOB application.
    Douglas also played a key role in identifying critical issues and resolutions within other tracks specifically Hyper-V, LOB Applications, AD design, Networking and SAN Storage. From an overall project technical SME perspective, Douglas assisted the team and leadership in making critical design and process related decisions and modifications which resulted in a successful deployment of the overall solution. These efforts enabled the project team to overcome major obstacles which could have led to extensive project delays.
