#colorscience Daniel ColorQ One area of development in OCIO in Unreal 5.4. Rendering : New: Added new VP utility post-process volume class, which sets all required settings for pass-through by default. Added a convenience engine material function for color transformations from the sRGB/Rec709 color space to the working color space. Exposed CPU OpenColorIO transformation to color types, and not only images. Allowed OpenColorIO library use in non-editor modes. Updated the OpenColorIO to 2.3.1. Exposed OpenColorIO context on the configuration asset.

It’s important to match rigging chain to hooks of the proper size. If you need to figure out what size hook you have, it will almost always be imprinted on the hook somewhere. But, if you're looking for the label in imperial notation (such as "1/2 inch") you might be out of luck — many manufacturers print the metric equivalent (such as "13mm") for size. The location and formatting of the size marking is different depending on the manufacturer. On this Crosby Shur-Loc hook, both metric and imperial are provided for convenience. However the hook is marked, make sure you index that information and match the hook size to your chain size. AND, the hook grade to your grade of chain (for example, a Grade 100 hook for Grade 100 chain). For your convenience, here is a quick list showing metric to imperial equivalents: 6mm = 7/32" 7mm = 9/32" 8mm = 5/16" 10mm = 3/8" 13mm = 1/2" 16mm = 5/8" 18 or 20mm = 3/4" 22mm = 7/8” 26mm = 1” 32mm = 1-1/4” What is the most common size of chain and hook that you use? #LiftingEquipment #Cranes #Hooks #TrusttheLift

Chain up! 🌊⛓🎈 No #keyframes, no #tyflow, just #phoenixfd active bodies! I'd like to start the week with a new Chaos PhoenixFD #RnD scene. It really takes me into uncharted territory, i never thought Phoenix Active Bodies are capable of this. After i discovered the concave collision feature, it was obvious to try it with a whole chain, to see how far i can go with the collision system. With a bit of fiddling and understanding of the individual parameters, et voilà! It's working! The #buoy is correctly constrained to the concrete block via the chain, while at the same time is interacting with the fluid. #Buoyancy force is pushing it up and makes it floating correctly on the surface. Pretty cool i think! 🤗 I'm planning to create a few more of these RnD scenes, it's fun! Would you like me to share the 3d scenes in the future? I always liked the pyro shelf in Houdini, but generally I want to keep my pyro setups entirely in SOPs without the DOP Network being placed at object level. My own pyro setup menu can create setups in Classic DOPs, Sparse DOPs and the SOP Pyro Solver and get you started instantly. In this video, I show a way to place foliage procedurally within Unreal. I use the Landscape material layers to limit where certain types of foliage will appear. The next step is to add more layers to further vary the environmental foliage and add character interaction with the grass. #3DEnvironment #3DArtist #3DArt #EnvironmentArtist #3Model
