  • ARTIST - An Autonomous, Real-time, Intelligent Seam Tracking robot

    Customized a 6-DOF industrial robot integrated with a laser range finder to scan and create a model of the welding seam in real-time and use this model to guide the path of the MIG welding torch attached to the robot's end-effector without any pre-programmed path.

  • Enterprise Architecture Modeling and SOA solutions

    • Enterprise Architecture Modeling: Contributed to end-to-end methodology to transform business models into SOA-based solution design for use by IBM GBS Application Services practice.

    • Service-oriented Architecture (SOA): Designed SOA-based open architecture for integrating third party PLM application services to create novel PLM solutions for automotive industry. Project critical to negotiating terms of $1B PLM software sales agreement with IBM business partner.

    Production Optimization: Conceived, designed, and successfully applied TSP optimization technique to optimize both machine loading sequence and component placement route of pick-and-place robots used in production of electronic card assemblies. Reduced product changeover time 50 percent and reduced finished goods inventory obsolescence 90% saving IBM $15M.

  • Supply Chain Management Tools

    SUPPLY CHAIN MGMT: SCM tools including, large-scale discrete event simulation of IBM's PC business to improve service levels without increasing inventory, decision support for planning production under demand uncertainty (used to plan production when introducing new CMOS hardware product line), and platform to collaboratively plan supply logistics across multiple vendors.
