"Doesn't a free society have the right to evaluate social institutions to see if they're working?" - John Silver Ph.D RN I'd argue that we don't just have the right - we have an obligation. If we don't evaluate, we don't learn. If we don't evaluate, we don't know what we don't know. If we don't compare the current status quo to what could and should function better for the benefit of society, the only change we get is for the worse. In the specific context that John references in this clip from the recent conversation hosted by Healthcare Reinvention Collaborative, the topic is our current health system - and everything that entails. We have to recognize and understand where, how, and why the gap between what our society needs and what our current healthcare model provides continues to widen - not to complain and increase disillusionment and despair, but to be able to reimagine and create a better, more accessible, fair, and financially viable health system that we all need and deserve. If we abdicate this responsibility or leave it to "others" to try to figure out or even worse, resign ourselves to a state of collective learned helplessness and just accept the failing status quo as inevitable, then we also give up our right to complain about that which we have accepted as "just the way it is." My mind is blown by how much it can do for the infopreneur, solopreneur entrepreneur. I love helping people to monetize their magnificence.

After years away from LinkedIn, I'm breaking my silence to share something deeply personal and professionally exciting. Many of you know me from my decade+-long work producing the Digital Health Summit at CES. But life had other plans for me. Like many, my world flipped in 2020. As a single mom navigating virtual kindergarten and a career, I felt like I was constantly running on a treadmill set too fast. By 2021, my son, Brody, was struggling with severe anxiety and meltdowns. I made the gut-wrenching decision to pause my career to focus on him. But my journey began much earlier. A week after bringing Brody home, I was thrust into an unexpected, relentless challenge. For years I was in the trenches, experimenting and crafting solutions to help my child's HUGE emotions. The usual parenting playbooks didn't work. It was insanely hard and isolating, feeling lost and scared that I might not be the right person for this extraordinary child. It was soul-crushing. I realized that raising Brody required a completely different approach, one I had to build from scratch through experimentation and intuition. Through years of tears, struggles, and relentless determination, I discovered Brody is a Highly Sensitive Child. This revelation validated the unique approach I'd discovered. I came to appreciate just how special these children are - their depth of processing, emotional intensity, and sensory awareness are truly remarkable gifts when understood and nurtured properly. Chatting with other moms, I've realized my story isn't unique, but the lack of support is staggering. How AI, VR and 5G play hand in hand - also for Learning & Development While medical professionals use augmented reality and virtual reality to train and practice critical procedures and highly complex surgeries (to be performed also remotely), the use, impossible benefits of these technologies in other domains, especially for learning and development purposes are still underestimated.
