Lead a chapter of over 3000 members and board with up to 4 retired O-6. Serve all of Texas and Oklahoma for the defense industry. Hosted a four star General and NDIA National President.

The National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) is America’s leading Defense Industry association promoting national security. The Lone Star Chapter covers North Texas and surrounding areas and currently has over 1700 members. http://ndialonestar.org/

This board position is reserved for past presidents. Part of the function is to support annual board planning and orientation and ensure elections are run smoothly each year. This role also performs multi-year planning to help the organization plan 2 to 5 years out.

Supported the chapter as the right hand to the president. Set up web page, helped recruit speakers, and began taking on presidential duties.

Responsible for keeping the Alumni Network active and informed. Also, play the role of Archivist (historian) for this nearly 100 year-old organization.

Responsible for the development of several chapters throughout Texas.

President of a nonprofit that raises money for multiple charities including the Assist the Officer Foundation and the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services Division of Blind Services as well as partners with the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce for volunteers to help train them in leadership skills. The DJCC Foundation supports the activities of the DJCC and other activities through philanthropy, mentoring, and continuing roles for past presidents of the chapter.

Served as the liaison for communications between the chapter and the foundation. In addition, helped write the bylaws, and develop the structure of the foundation, which was new at the time.

INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering)
Responsible for the Day to Day operations of the North Texas Chapter (NTC) including acting as the chapter representative.

Lead SMU's Curriculum Review, which is receiving a great deal of visibility from the defense community, including the OSD.

The North Texas Chapter received the Gold Circle Award during term as president.

Supported the entire chapter in a two-year commitment that would lead to chapter president.

The most difficult position on the board at the time, responsible for communications, documentation of meeting minutes, web updates, and documenting the Circle Awards -- our chapter received the Bronze Circle Award for that year.

Served on the United States Junior Chamber (aka US Jaycees or JCI USA) Metro board. Metro focuses on chapters in large cities or with over 100 members. We hosted a conference that contained training and brought members from across the US. Most importantly we connected with like-minded members.

As Immediate Past President, I served an ex-officio role as Chairman of the Board. My responsibilities included planning logistics for the Annual Planning retreat, running elections, and various other duties including advising board members and commitee members. During this year, the first Five Oustanding Young Dallasites (FOYD) had over 100 attendees, including the Mayor of Dallas. Membership remained over 140.

There are no paid employees in the Dallas Junior Chamber; nearly everyone has a full time job while involved. The focus is developing young people through community service.
