https://lnkd.in/eKr7XPKP Kudos to Herndon VA police chief Maggie Deboard!! We need more strong females leading law enforcement; and we need more local law enforcement standing up for national priorities and never thinking they are too 'local' to care about things like terorrism, or federal rights, or national security. I once had a local PD dept in Virginia - not Herndon - actually support a Chinese citizen landlord over me, in some dispute. I was the US citizen and US military / national intelligence veteran. They were just the homeowner. And that particular county in Virginia had already yielded a Chinese spy named "Lee' who had lived in VA for years: https://lnkd.in/emEjyiBk. Simply owning property or holding a job in the US does not make every immigrant from an enemy nation safe. Or that 'background' something to brag about. We should brag about being AMERICANS. THIS IS NOT ANY OTHER NATION. THIS IS AMERICA. If you are not proud of being AMERICAN, why are you living here, and not back in the nation you came here from, for a better life? And I agree with Elon and most government contractors - we should prioritize US citizens for employment. Our citizenship should MEAN something. Should be something we are proud of. Should be a very elite club that we screen anyone trying to get into. #herndon #nato #UScitizenship

While I applaud Cpl. Bradford Flores’ service to our nation I disagree wholeheartedly with the decision to allow him to wear his hair consistent with his tribal culture vice the Marine Corps’ culture. Service in the military requires sacrifice - the suborning of individual ego, beliefs, and culture for the collective standards, and core values of the group. Military organizations are teams, I’d like anyone to give me an example of a championship team that allows its players to do whatever they desire. You can’t! Nick Saban will tell you that to be elite you need to have a vision of success, a process that defines a set of standards of behavior, daily conduct and work habits that lead to predictable successful outcomes, and the individual and organizational discipline to execute these to the collective standard every moment of everyday. Failure to do so makes you average at best but not elite. When the Marine Corps used the unique language of the Navajos as an unbreakable code in WWII did they allow them to embrace their tribal culture or did they make them adhere to the Marine Corps culture? We all know the answer. Don’t let feel good policies undermine the collective strength and resilience of the group. Senior leaders do your job - EDUCATE and LEAD on this issue.

What challenges do military members face in finding full employment in an optimal career field upon departing the service? This introductory course to my book Mission Transition answers that question. It defines the civil-military divide and characterizes the difficult challenge they must overcome. It is by far the most-watched video on my YouTube channel. Enjoy! #missiontransition #hiringveterans #vhv #militarytransition

Are you a company in need of #EHS talent? Are you #separating from the #military over the next year? In either case, have you heard of DoD-SkillBridge? Each year, 200,000 members of the U.S. Armed Forces leave active duty and re-enter the civilian work force or pursue higher education. Through the DoD Skillbridge Program, DoD continues to pay the service member's salary and benefits while they work at your company up to the final 180 days (6 months) of service. This allows the service member to gain invaluable experience while you (the company) have the opportunity to train and potentially retain top military talent completely risk-free. There is no catch...no strings attached. And there are a ton of #EHS jobs out there! Trust me, I have been looking. For companies, simply sign up at the DoD SkillBridge website - link provided in the comments section. As a retiring military member, I looked for a SkillBridge opportunity approximately a year ago but sadly found nothing in the EHS field. Companies seeking EHS talent are missing out! Again, there are 200,000 members leaving the service EACH YEAR! People who are skilled, vetted, adaptable, quick learners, certified (in some cases), and hungry to prove themselves. And let's not forget our incredibly talented #militaryspouses!!! A significant number of EHS professionals I have spoken to over the last 6 months have been completely unaware of the Program, as well as tax incentives and other benefits that come with hiring veterans. I ask that reputable EHS organizations such as American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA), American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), National Safety Council, National Association Of Safety Professionals, and others to promote this cost-free opportunity to the private sector in order to improve #recruitment of military talent into the EHS profession. Beyond SkillBridge, American Corporate Partners (ACP) needs seasoned EHS mentors to help guide transitioning military members entering the workforce. It is easy to sign up - again, a link has been provided in the comments section below. PM if you have any questions at all. My sole motivation for this post is a desire to see the EHS profession thrive. I firmly believe that this extraordinary talent pool is being woefully overlooked. #militaryrecruitment #militarytransition #veterans #veteransupport #militarycommunity #EHStalent #CIH #CSP #BCSP #BCG #veteranjobs #ehsprofession #ehsprofessionals #ehsjobs #ehscommunity #safetyjobs #hiremilitary #industrialhygienejobs #ehsmentors #recruiters #militaryrecruiters #corporaterecruiters #corporaterecruiting

I am looking forward to reading this report, both for its content and to understand the methodology employed in the research. Malicious use of improvised explosives presents a practical problem set for CT practitioners & law enforcement, as well as broader strategic challenges when it comes to countering the production and use of complex weapons by bad actors. A better understanding of the process of production and use of IED's by terrorists is also likely to have relevance with respect to global security, especially in places where long-running low intensity conflicts often involve large numbers of HME (Home Made Explosives) or slightly more sophisticated, but still produced outside of a factory, explosives and munitions, as we continue to see in many conflicts in the Middle East and Western Asia. #EOD #counterterrorism #terrorism #lowIntensityConflict #war #security #nationalsecurity #counterIED #lawenforcement

Equal Justice is a fundamental principle that should apply universally, whether in civilian life or while serving in the Armed Forces. As a Retired Service Member and former Military Police Soldier, I have firsthand witnessed instances where senior officers and senior enlisted individuals receive preferential treatment even after being charged with serious crimes such as Assault, Domestic Violence, DUI, and Possession. Sadly, this disparity in treatment extends beyond the military into civilian life. A recent news article highlighted a concerning case where an Air Force General was allowed to continue serving despite being found guilty on some charges in a Sexual Assault case. Such occurrences are not uncommon, shedding light on the challenges of ensuring accountability and fairness within the military hierarchy. These incidents raise critical questions about the integrity of the military justice system and its impact on the morale and well-being of service members. The need for transparency and accountability in addressing misconduct is paramount to upholding the values of justice and equality within the Armed Forces. #EqualJustice #MilitaryJustice #Accountability #lawenforcement https://lnkd.in/eakpXiTc

Thoughts from MFP HQBN S4: -Checking out of a unit and finding that a Sgt also served with the same storied Bn that you have served with and beside, that your retiring officer served with, is one of the best parts of the Marine Corps. The bond transcends rank. We had a reputation for violence. It was earned. -At the CIF, everyone is equal. Thankfully if you’ve never checked into that CIF, checking out is painless. Unlike trying to get JWTC out of my Oki issue. -You get the network you pay for, and if C2 is everyone’s business then we really need to highlight that some portions of the Marine Corps grow up knowing that if you can’t communicate you are a liability, and thus as a youngester you learn how to get a radio (or computer) back in the fight. However it seems that other parts of the USMC when confronted by a computer or a discussion about C4I defer and expect to be served. -Which means you get the network you pay for. -Being there pre-Force Design when a POM wargame came down to a simple question. From the Red perspective if Blue had a dollar to spend on missiles, or on a better network, where would the best investment be? There is a reason information dominance is the first of the three dominance’s in the primary pacing threat’s vernacular. So you get the network you pay for, when you buy missiles first.

Not a good look… What do you think about this? Security is all about people, policy, and technology - the largest and most important is people. If you are not a good people person, you won’t work well for clients, their staff and (as in this case) your team. I highly recommend the book ‘How to Win Friends’ by Dale Carnegie. https://lnkd.in/eBSAunG3

April 25 USCENTCOM Conducts Humanitarian Airdrops into Gaza TAMPA, Fla. – U.S. Central Command conducted a combined humanitarian assistance airdrop into Northern Gaza on April 25, 2024, at 12:15 p.m. (Gaza time) to provide essential relief to civilians in Gaza affected by the ongoing conflict. The joint operation included two U.S. Air Force C-130 aircraft. The U.S. C-130s dropped over 25,000 Meals Ready to Eat (MREs), providing life-saving humanitarian assistance in Northern Gaza. To date the U.S. has dropped more than 1082 tons of humanitarian assistance. The DoD humanitarian airdrops contribute to ongoing U.S. and partner-nation government efforts to alleviate human suffering. These airdrops are part of a sustained effort, and we continue to plan follow-on aerial deliveries.
