Street Craps Explained For the past several weeks I have been writing a series of articles about Casino games, and more specifically, about certain bets and ways to play them. These articles are intended primarily for those who are novice players of Casino games, or perhaps casual players who have played the games before, but may not be as familiar with these bets, or how to make them, or what they mean, and why, and how to play them. Even though I have been writing for the gaming industry, and about Casino games for 40 years now, I am still very often asked to explain aspects of Casino games, and how to play them. Especially in recent times, with the popularity of Casino gaming worldwide, as well as online Casino gaming, including here in America. Many players are simply not familiar with these games, or these particular wagers, and I have also often heard that answers to these relatively simple questions are hard to find, even on Internet search. That's because there's so much information available, that it can easily lead to information overload. And, I have also been told, that many times these explanations are just too confusing, or too long. Prevent card counting by learning the basics  (detailed calculations shared in part 5) How does card counting work in Blackjack? Part 3 Calculate A “True Count” Or Count Per Deck In an attempt to thwart card counters,  casinos began using multiple decks. How do players use a running count in a multiple-deck game? Simple. They translate the information into a “True Count”.   Let me break it down below. Having a +5 running count with 7 decks remaining is completely different from a +5 running count with only 4 decks remaining. In the first instance, the true count is still low and the player might not have the advantage yet. So the 1st big lesson is: It’s not just the number of extra high cards that matters to a card counter; it’s the concentration of high cards compared to the concentration of low cards. Thus, the true count helps players to vary their playing strategy. And so the 2nd big lesson is:  Card counting basics + Excel calculator = advantage You're close to learning all the basics that players use to abuse your casino. And so, to them, this is all very new. And the same perhaps applies to others, who may be familiar with card games, but maybe not so much Casino Blackjack. So, in this series of articles, of which this is the 3rd one, I have tried to simplify answers to these questions in a way in which they can be understood, even by players who may be new to these games, or to these bets. Spanish Blackjack explained. This is the latest article in my series on Casino games, with simplified explanations about wagering, and how to bet, how to play, and what all the various odds and paybacks and house percentages are. This series was designed to enable casual players to understand the games and the wagers a little bit better, and therefore make it easier to enjoy them more.
