    Thumb1
Reach Out and Read builds on the unique relationship between parents and medical providers to develop critical early reading skills in children, beginning in infancy. As recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Reach Out and Read incorporates early literacy into pediatric practice, equipping parents with tools and knowledge to ensure that their children are prepared to learn when they start school.

Reach Out and Read serves more than 4 million children and their families annually. Reach Out and Read families read together more often, and their children enter kindergarten with larger vocabularies and stronger language skills. During the preschool years, children served by Reach Out and Read score three to six months ahead of their non-Reach Out and Read peers on vocabulary tests. These early foundational language skills help start children on a path of success when they enter school.

We believe one young and inspired mind can change the world! The OtterCares Foundation champions innovative education that inspires youth to become entrepreneurs and philanthropists who create lasting and impactful change in their communities.

Why is Teaching Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy Important?
    Entrepreneurship
It’s a big, rather challenging word for even adults to pronounce! Developing an entrepreneurial spirit at a young age can change the trajectory of a student’s life and the future of the community. Entrepreneurship teaches leadership, grows confidence and builds character, while also creating jobs, contributing to economic growth and developing innovative products and services that change everyday life.

    Philanthropy
It’s a word we hear more and more often, but many aren’t sure how to define. It’s essential for young people to understand philanthropy is not simply wealthy people giving money away, but anyone contributing TIME, TALENT or TREASURE. The younger a student is when the teaching of philanthropy begins, the more giving becomes a habit that continues into adulthood.

    Why Integrate Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy?
We believe students already have the creativity, ambition and ability to create lasting and impactful change in their communities; they simply need the inspiration and the encouragement to make their ideas a reality. Teaching the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and philanthropy are important individually but by combining these two skills we can create a ripple that will impact generations to come.

Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that is concentrated on saving the lives of Kern County's incarcerated canines. Kern County's shelters are bursting at the seams and register some of the highest euthanasia rates in the country. We are committed to these shelter dogs simply because they have NO ONE and are closest to death. These dogs are at the shelter because they have been abandoned, lost, neglected, discarded or abused and many of them have no way out but RESCUE. These dogs are without family, love or representation and we aim to save as many as we can. We are their rescuers, their voice and their future.

30 years ago, the American Institute for Cancer Research was founded on a simple but radical idea: everyday choices can reduce our chances of getting cancer.

We were the first organization to focus research on the link between diet and cancer and translate the results into practical information for the public. AICR embraced the mission of changing lives to save lives.
