The debate regarding remote work vs. in-office work rages on. A recent meta-analysis of 170 studies involving over 87,000 participants brought forth some fascinating revelations. According to this extensive meta-analysis, remote work significantly boosts job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work-life balance. Contrary to common concerns, remote employees often feel more supported and valued, leading to higher productivity and greater job commitment. The study does highlight a possible downside: increased feelings of isolation among remote workers. Additionally, new research from the University of Pittsburgh, which analyzed data from over 5 million mental health screens, found that states with higher percentages of firms offering flexible work arrangements exhibited considerably lower rates of depression and suicide risk. This underscores the significant positive influence of workplace flexibility on mental well-being. When Gimbel Automation was just starting out, I (like most entrepreneurs) thought that I could do it all. But after thousands of automated parts and a lot of growth, we were hitting the ceiling... over... and over... and... over again. When we started implementing EOS, it opened to my eyes at what we'd been doing an okay-ish job at all this time, but never been making a full-on effort to do: documenting "the process". To be fair, it took a long time for us to build up a sustainable product and customer base in addition to the consulting and turnkey automation work, but once we had "the recipe" of the business down, documenting EVERYTHING became a priority. Today, when I had one of our Senior Machinists ask me how to set up our custom-made Shrink-fit machine again, I was reminded -- document EVERYTHING!

Project & Cx Log Closure Time Frame & Cost You're damned if you do and damned if you don't have a comprehensive Cx Log.  I am finding it incredibly difficult to close on the project Cx log within the allocated budget hours.  Many project managers expect the Cx engineer to close on all items for the project to close out.  This can happen in one week or one year depending on many factors outside the Cx provider’s control, some of which are contractor response time, material and labor lead times and availability, etc.. What’s the best way for a Cx provider to deal with it?  Cx fixed fee base proposal should define a number of project closure hours with closure duration time frame, thirty days from project occupancy seems to be a fair duration.  At the end of this duration, the Cx engineer should submit a Cx report identifying the current open items from the Cx log.  At that point, the project manager may decide to take the lead on closure of the list, or solicit the Cx provider for additional services to assist.  If the Cx provider is re-engaged, I would recommend the services to be structured based on T&M.  The language describing Cx turnover should be clearly articulated in the based proposal. Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated to learn different perspectives.
