Do you think the future of talent is flexible and fractional? I recently wrote an article for Upsize Minnesota magazine talking about how employers can get the true skills they need in this market. Here are three reasons I believe the future is flexible and fractional.   +Reduce Turnover with Flexibility: Offering remote and hybrid work options remains a powerful tool for recruiting and retaining top talent. Today’s top talent expect it. Getting the kids on the bus, hitting the gym, walking the dog are things we got to do during Covid that people don’t want to give us. They also want to do good work This approach helps mitigate the high costs and stress associated with turnover, which can be as high as three times an employee's salary.   +Gain Strong Expertise Cost-Effectively: Fractional hires allow you to bring in highly specialized talent on a part-time basis, giving you access to expertise without the burden of full-time salaries. This is especially useful for finance, marketing, HR, and operations roles. In our industry you can get a skilled writer, designer and marketer all for the price of one full time employee.   +Scale Your Workforce Wisely: Fractional roles provide a "try before you buy" approach, enabling you to adapt your workforce to current needs and ensure the right fit before committing to full-time hires. In 2021, I wrote a commentary piece about the intersection of Pride month and Juneteenth. 3 years later, it is one of the most seen Buckeye Flame articles and yearly gets a surge on today. The truth is, anti-Blackness is still very much a thing. People have gone out of their way to discredit and demonize equity efforts in a country founded on explotitation of Black labor. How does this impact us all? Aren’t we all now exploited for labor to survive in an extremely capitalistic society 🤷🏽‍♀️. Don’t we often put profits and property over people? If you’re Juneteenth is performative, just do us all a favor and keep it to yourself today. I long for the day when intersectionality, nuance, and complexity are valued and America doesn’t find any way it can to oppress and suppress Black, Indigenous, and Brown people and their voices. ‘Juneteenth provides us with an opportunity to celebrate the freedom of an entire race of people. The notion of race is a categorization for people created by European settlers as they colonized American land. Juneteenth is complex because it requires us to acknowledge our American history with the reality and atrocities of slavery in America. To celebrate freedom would mean to acknowledge our ‘original sin’ as a nation.’ -excerpt from article How can we possibly move forward to be accountable to anything if we don’t acknowledge the atrocities of slavery and oppression? I truly believe it is why we see the world as it is now. There is no healing without accountability and acknowledgement first. It’s all connected. ❤️💚🖤✊🏽
