REAL WOMEN COOK: Building Healthy Communities with Recipes the Stir the Soul provides advice and recipes that promote the economic and social advantages of cooking and eating as a family at home. Throughout the book are references to sisterhood and mutual respect, beginning with the exemplary relationship between the authors, Yvette Moyo and Sharon Morgan. They point out the differences between them as once single mothers, highly successful career women, business owners and great cooks. Each chapter begins with Yvette's encouragement as she nourishes the spirit with common sense advice on everything from the benefits of breast feeding to gardening, canning, exercising and entertaining. The key message is that eating healthfully is not hard and doesn't have to be expensive. The message is illustrated with more than 100 recipes that focus on vegetarian ingredients, low sodium and healing herbs and spices.

  • Real Men Cook: More Than 100 Easy Recipes Celebrating Tradition and Family

    Simon & Schuster

Real Men Cook: More Than 100 Easy Recipes Celebrating Tradition and Family is about the men who cook in our Father's Day celebration. I served as brand director and had the pleasure of securing the Foreword for the book from now-U.S. President, Barack Obama, who attended the Father's Day events I produced along with his wife and children as part of their family tradition.

Real Men Cook for charity is a Father's Day celebration turned national tradition. It launched as the first time fathers and father-figures gave up Father's Day pampering to cook and serve guests. The tradition has continued in multiple cities and even at the White House where the U.S. President Barack Obama hosted men serving other committed men, cooking for a cause on Father's Day.
