Detachable magazines with a capacity exceeding 10 rounds are the overwhelming standard for firearm owners in the United States. This new Detachable Magazine Report (1990-2021), which surveyed 30-plus years of detachable magazine production and distribution, demonstrated that of the conservatively estimated 963,772,000 detachable magazines supplied from a firearm manufacturer and in the aftermarket, at least 717,900,000 have a capacity exceeding 10 rounds, the limit some states place for lawful magazine possession. With nearly 1 billion detachable magazines in circulation, for both rifles and pistols, they are unquestionably commonly-owned and commonly-used for lawful firearm use, including recreational target shooting, hunting and self-defense. They are “arms” within the meaning of the Second Amendment. "The US Marines’ China-fighting, island hopping Q Ship plan is in trouble" The US Marine Corps has a new island-hopping strategy for a possible war with China. But the strategy requires a new ship – an easy-to-hide medium landing ship that’s cheap enough for the US Navy to buy quickly and in large numbers. But the Medium Landing Ship – or LSM in Navy parlance – is two years behind schedule, and costs are rising. The delays and increasing cost aren’t isolated problems – they’re endemic to the whole portfolio of Navy shipbuilding programs as the Pentagon grapples with serious labor issues. Right now the Americans are struggling to acquire any warships, even the simplest and cheapest ones. And that could jeopardize the Marines’ Pacific war strategy. The Medium Landing Ship shouldn’t have been so difficult to build. The requirements the Marines hashed out with the Navy, shortly after then Marine commandant General David Berger announced the Corps’ new island-hopping strategy five years ago, weren’t terribly ambitious. The Medium Landing Ship would be just 200 to 400 feet long with a loading ramp, a helicopter pad, a few light guns for self-defence and space for 70 crew, a platoon of 50 Marines as well as 650 tons of weapons and supplies. It would sail for 3,500 miles at 14 knots and, with its innocuous appearance, be very difficult to pick out from among civilian sea traffic – the key to its stealth and survival in waters near China without heavy Navy protection. Like the Q-ships of the World Wars, LSMs are intended to carry out their mission by disguising themselves as merchant vessels. The idea is for the LSMs to land Marines on remote islands inside the so-called “first island chain” stretching from the Philippines to Japan. The Marines would launch drones and missiles to hound Chinese warships, using their island bases as unsinkable weapons platforms – and then climb back aboard their landing ships and depart before the Chinese could arrive in force. The plan, as recently as 2023, was for the Navy to buy at least 18 and as many as 35 Medium Landing Ships for $150 million apiece starting that year. Instead, keel-laying for the first ship has slipped to 2025 at the earliest – and the cost could rise to $400 million per ship. Inflation accounts for some of the price boost, but the design is a factor, too. The Navy is leaning toward the larger version of the vessel. The price could inflate or deflate before workers cut the first steel, according to a recent report from the US Congressional Budget Office."

It Israel kills humanity in Gaza because no one stops it 19 years ago, in 2005 Palestinians called on the people of conscience, on the whole world to impose broad boycotts and implement divestment initiatives against Israel similar to that applied to South Africa in the apartheid ere, until it complied with international law, but no one responded. Consequently, Israel went on its non ending war crimes without any punishment; killing Palestinians in the West Bank, in Gaza, demolishing homes, confiscating lands, detaining, violating treaties, violating human rights, international laws, violating all ethics, values and morals. In January 2009, Israel committed a shocking new stage of mass killing in Gaza, with no condemnation with no word with no action. So, it is outrageous when we see the world ignores all those crimes atrocities and denies the Palestinians their right to resist against occupation, against mass killings, against oppression, denies them their rights to live an honorable life. Inspite of to all these atrocities, war crimes, human rights violations, the accelerated genocide of the Palestinian people, the overt evidences is met with inaction from international organizations , silence or complicity from Arab brothers and even outright hostility from world leaders. Israel commits mass atrocities, war crimes, massacres, genocides, simply because no one stops it. All Arab brothers, all the world left Gaza alone facing savagery and barbarianism backed up by US military and technology support. Israeli attacks wipe out entire families in Gaza, and everyone is watching. Shame on every complicit.. Shame on all parteners.. Shame on everyone remains silent..

The House Armed Services Committee draft of the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act adds $1 billion for a second Virginia-class submarine and cuts 10 F-35's from the Pentagon's request for 68 jets. The latter cut to F-35's is meant "to free up funds that would allow Lockheed Martin to make needed investments to get the program on more stable footing." DoD is currently not accepting F-35 deliveries until Lockheed can resolve all deficiencies identified in the 2024 F-35 Initial Operational Testing and Evaluation report. Diamond anniversaries are few and far between. Perhaps massive street closures aren’t the traditional gift, but it is one of the ancillary benefits of NATO celebrating its 75th anniversary just a mile from me. The headlines will talk about enduring stability and the commitment of various systems, specifically air defense. In contrast, those lining the beltway carefully ponder the ongoing and underlying question of maintaining these systems. Two weeks back, LANCE LANDRUM reminded the crowd of executives at Precision Talent Solutions' private event that even within NATO, subtle nuances within the various systems (at the time he was referring to 155mm artillery) make interoperability a challenge. For nearly 12 months, Precision has been supporting the efforts in Ukraine by supplying maintenance technicians for an effort repairing UK MOD provided equipment in Western Ukraine. We’ve been able to create strong pipelines of non-Americans with the technical skillsets needed to keep the UK’s military aid to Ukraine on the battlefield. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg reminded NATO leaders today, “There are no cost-free options with an aggressive Russia as a neighbor; there are no risk free options in a war.” When the pipeline opens for US contractors, many vendors on the outside will be wondering where to find the talent. We know. Call us. #Ukraine #NATO #defensecontracting

We have a challenge in the Services. We have lost the art of identifying the good idea cut off point in everything we do: IT, weapons development, etc. We want a perfect capability. We have to design capability in phases to get capability quickly to the user. We call it Agile, but it is Agilefall which is Waterfall development. We need good idea cut off dates and hold them to it. As you see a capability, there is always something better, but get the capability you can now and ensure you use MOSA so you can continue to evolve and innovate the capability. We have to get innovative capability to users NOW. Do not let the user or developers change an agreed to design. Get it done!

Developing Drone and Counter-Drone Capabilities with The Hon. Gabe Camarillo Center for a New American Security (CNAS) 17 May 2024 Please join the Center for a New American Security on Friday, May 17, at 10:00am ET for a virtual fireside chat with the Honorable Gabe Camarillo, Under Secretary of the Army, moderated by Dr. Stacie Pettyjohn, Senior Fellow and Director of the CNAS Defense Program. This conversation will broadly discuss the Army’s development of drone and counter-drone capabilities, drawing on lessons the Army has learned from the ongoing war in Ukraine. Dr. Pettyjohn's recent CNAS report, Evolution Not Revolution: Drone Warfare in Russia’s 2022 Invasion of Ukraine, highlights the innovative ways Ukrainian and Russian forces have employed a range of drones, from small commercial quadcopters to long-range loitering munitions, as well as their successes and failures in countering the same types of capabilities. A potential war in the Indo-Pacific would require different uncrewed capabilities and pose different C-UAS challenges. Still, the war in Ukraine provides fundamental lessons on the ways in which today’s drones both have and have not changed the modern battlefield. These lessons include the importance of generating mass, bolstering the industrial base, and investing in diverse air defenses. Hon. Camarillo and Dr. Pettyjohn will discuss these lessons and the Army’s broader approach in this space before taking audience questions.
