  • "The Fathers Walk"

    Halo Publishing

The third in my "Dad Storybooks" series, "The Fathers Walk" is a feel-good story about the annual back-to-school event that has dads across
the country walking their children into their school hand-in-hand. A great
    keepsake of an unforgettable day!

  • Donuts With Dad

    Halo Publishing

"Donuts With Dad" is Margaret's second storybook written to encourage fathers of color to establish a regular ritual of reading with their child. Sprinkled with daddy swagger, it's sure to spark many lively read-alouds as fathers boast of their skills from hairstyling to teaching basketball moves. Parent and child can use the story as a takeoff point to plan and enjoy their own special days together.

  • All In a Dad's Day

    Eagle Creek Publishing

My one-of-a-kind storybook is designed to be read aloud by a father to his son or daughter. In that instant, it begins fulfilling its important mission of strengthening the bond between dad and child. It's a lively, engaging promotional tool that fatherhood and family agencies are using to direct fathers to their programs and services. • 2023 Emmy for Community Service

National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Central Great Lakes chapter

WKYC Studios took home the Emmy for Community Service this year! The award recognizes the impact of our "Education Station" campaign, an ongoing stationwide effort to identify the biggest post-pandemic challenges facing Northeast Ohio schoolchildren and to be solution-oriented in our news coverage and advocacy efforts. As WKYC's community relations director, I spearheaded a multi-pronged initiative that mobilized dozens of our employees to get involved to make a difference. Most notably, our TV station "adopted" Charles Dickens School, a Cleveland public school where none of the 3rd graders were reading at grade level, and rallied viewers to join our employees for an afterschool tutoring program. In just five months, our “Dickens Reads” program for 2nd- and 3rd-graders saw major results. The 15 participating students jumped 1 grade level ahead in reading, and 1.5 grades in spelling. “Every student in the program showed growth,” said a thrilled Dickens Principal Jocelyn Foster.

I was one of seven local women to receive this top honor from the YWCA, a vital and mission-driven organization devoted to empowering women and fighting injustice. I'm very proud to have assisted this important nonprofit in exceeding revenue goals for the Women of Achievement fundraiser by more than $50,000!

  • Four 2022 Emmys!

    NATAS Lower Great Lakes

Very proud to say that I won FOUR beautiful Emmy statuettes during the 2022 Great Lakes Emmy Awards. Two were awarded for my work in Marketing (as producer on the "Dare to Dream" and "I Love The 'Land" promos). And two more for executive-producing news specials ("First Class," about the LeBron James Family Foundation's first graduating class, and "A Turning Point," our monthly show examining the impact of the nation's racial reckoning).

    MENTOR, The National Mentoring Partnership

I have gone on to establish additional literacy-friendly neighborhood programs with partners in Hough, Central and Collinwood, and we recently added a tightly targeted version of the program at Dickens School in Cleveland.
