Until this program was defunded, I volunteered as instructor to 50+ year olds, to assist them in optimizing their profiles on LinkedIn and helping them source networking contacts for re-employment.

It was a very rewarding probono project for me that I am happy to say has resulted in many of my attendees having future career successes.

One comment I received was, ".... I want to compliment you on your class today. I have taken so many classes there. Many have been very good but yours was by far the most valuable for me. You gave a great introductory overview of not just how Linked In works, but it's value in moving my web presence more front and center."

Another: "Simply said Marc, your work and training has been invaluable and there are many, including myself, who "thank you" for giving your time and effort to watch us succeed."

I witnessed and overheard many a-ha moments when I taught. We celebrated when a client became employed again, partially the result of his/her improved LinkedIn profile.

"I just had an incredible chat with Marc W. Halpert on the latest episode of the BE THAT LAWYER podcast: Building Your LinkedIn Profile to Maximize You. Marc shared his journey to becoming the go-to LinkedIn expert, and let me tell you, it's a story packed with insights and takeaways for all of us looking to shine a little brighter online.

In our conversation, Marc emphasized the importance of showing the world how "amazinger" you are. Yes, you read that right! It's all about putting your personality front and center on your LinkedIn profile. Why? Because that's how people connect with you. They want to know who you are, not just what you do. And with LinkedIn's landscape constantly evolving, Marc shared some golden tips on staying ahead of the game and making the platform work for you.

We also dove into the power of narrative. It's not about listing every skill or achievement; it's about telling your story in a way that resonates with people. Why you do what you do is infinitely more compelling than just a list of your accomplishments. And Marc’s advice? Write your profile in the first person and in the present, active tense to create that peer-to-peer connection we all crave.

So, if you're ready to revamp your LinkedIn profile and make a real impact, this episode is a must-listen. Marc's insights are a game-changer for lawyers and professionals aiming to stand out in a sea of sameness."

    Thanks so much Steve.

I authored "LinkedIn Marketing Techniques for Law and Professional Practices" published in June 2017 by the American Bar Association. One reviewer said: "Love your book- every page is worth a million bucks!"

From the back cover of the book:
"Hundreds of millions of global businesspeople use LinkedIn daily as a power tool to forge connections, nurture relationships, assess, and select professionals to rely on.

After 7 years coaching and training professional practitioners: consultants, attorneys, CPAs, insurance producers, financial planners, and entrepreneurs--just about anyone offering services—the author was convinced we needed a field reference guide, time-tested, broken into short blocks covering each LinkedIn section.

Here’s what this book does differently: it doesn’t tell you what to do, where to click, with directions that go stale due to a change in LinkedIn; rather, it offers long term marketing techniques: how and why to make each LinkedIn section work, based on actual experiences, adding a chapter written by my guest Carol Greenwald providing a special focus for attorneys under ethics guidelines.

The book you are holding will lead you to express why you do what you do, and thus convince clients that you are the one they need."

The staff, officers, board, volunteers and corporate sponsors have so much at stake to ensure the casual reader understands the need for fundraising for their specific cause. LinkedIn is the place the world’s professional talent comes together, virtually, to seek each other’s counsel, product, services and reinforce our inter-connectivity within the efficiency of the internet. I teach my clients and workshop attendees that it’s the interactions and inter-relationships that we routinely cultivate that makes us the most valuable colleagues. A two-way street. Using LinkedIn to massage our network and encircle new colleagues is a practiced art. But you have to “work” LinkedIn.

How? Pay it forward; what goes around comes around: help others with their need to learn from you and help them meet other effective business people through you. The end result is the dividend of a richer network. Your trusted network will appreciate that you care. Colleagues will admire your efforts and warmly refer you as a result. That’s why I called my company connect2collaborate. Because when you keep in touch, and offer great learning material routinely, you are top of mind. The competition is not.

Then we can reprise the work: at another place, venue, adjust the topic, go deeper in the next session, whatever the audience and the co-presenters need and re-imagine, respectively.

On 10/9/23 I co-presented with Andy Brownstein, a practicing corporate, energy, and real estate attorney in Richmond, Virginia, with our views on successful best practices that add beneficial value to readers from expressing legal observations via LinkedIn Posts, always submitted ethically and professionally.

We showed ways to encourage readers to comment back in a conversation around a topic among peers to encourage professionalism. This program was aimed at legal professionals whose posting activity needs a new perspective or to get them started in a new habit of posting, and showing themselves and their firm in the best professional light.
This 1-hour program discussed short form online brand communication to:
    1) Enhance your practice by providing 950+ million professionals on LinkedIn with your thoughts on relevant topics,
    2) Inform others on legal subject matters on new developments in your field practice, ethically,
    3) Encourage online readers to look to you as a referral source, and
    4) Rely on your expertise, with the prospect of being referred.
These tactics can lead to new contacts, press inquiries, and professional recognition for you and your firm.

With our Freestyle Networking model, members can participate as much or as little as they want and the networking doesn’t stop there. A’s Net has a very active listserv by which members communicate with each other and share contacts, connections and leads, and if that doesn’t sound like enough, every member gets a full page on the website where they can provide their business profile, links to videos and more. This searchable “roster” is a virtual treasure trove and members utilize it in their ongoing prospecting and connecting efforts. A’s Net’s Freestyle Networking is truly “networking for grownups.” On January 31, 2024, after reading one of my weekdaily blogposts, our Fearless Leader emailed the entire Adrian's Network membership: "How spot-on is this? And, how fortunate we are to have Marc Halpert, LinkedIn coach, IN OUR COMMUNITY!" Just me doing my job....
