NBRx story: Is #Patients or #NBRx or #NRx better metric for Incentive Compensation (IC) 1. Patient is an individual on therapy for a disease he/she is suffering. 2. NBRx is New Patient Start on a new drug. Sales reps feel they have more influence on NBRx in comparison to TRx, which they perceive as being more dependent on ongoing patient compliance. 3. NRx includes any new prescription: new-to-brand, new script, renewal of expired scripts. NRx remains a popular proxy for patient-oriented metrics. However, if it is used as Incentive Compensation (IC) metric, it may encourage the reps to influence HCPs to write shorter duration scripts, so they can get higher NRx volume. What the above means is that 1 patient can have multiple NBRx and each NBRx can have multiple NRx. NRx and TRx combinations are better metrics for IC. Example of Patient, NBRx and NRx: Patient A is suffering from NSCLC (type of lung cancer). > Physician puts this patient on Cisplatin (chemo therapy) for three months - First NBRx and also termed as NRx. >Now after three months of Cisplatin therapy, physician writes Cisplatin for two more months. This would be termed as another NRx >After Cisplatin, Physician switches the patient A to Opdivo (Immuno-oncology) for a month which would be termed as another NBRx as well as NRx Basically, there is 1 Patient A, 2 NBRx (Cisplatin & Opdivo) and 3 NRx (2 from Cisplatin and 1 Opdivo) (and 12 TRx, assuming Cisplatin as well as Opdivo are given every 15 days: 3 months + 2 months on Cisplatin and 1 month on Opdivo = 6 months * 2 TRx = 12 TRx) Source: My experience and IQVIA blog

Decile story: Why deciles were incorrect Yesterday while working on a deliverable, deciles (segmenting in 10 segments) were coming incorrect for HCPs. To decile HCPs (Health Care Professionals), sort them in descending order of their Patient count. Then apply the below formula to decile: =(11-ROUNDUP((SUM(C$2:C2)/SUM($C:$C))*10,0)) We were wondering why deciles were not coming correct and the reason was that we had not sorted the HCPs in descending order. In the end when we came to know the reason we were relieved and I said, "Deciles करेक्ट आए ना आए, आएंगे तो मोदीजी ही!" (Even if Deciles do not come, PM Modi will come for sure) Some lighter moments are needed during tense work situations.

I love this approach to transparency! Transparency has been crucial in building trust with our stakeholders in the HEOR industry for years. That’s been our strength. It all comes down to a clear, simple idea. The ONE sentence that explains what we stand for and deliver. The Core Idea. For us, it would be: “Show stakeholders that transparency is the foundation of trustworthy research.” You need this clear idea when you’re at the point Where you've got an important study, And you need to make it impactful. You need to know exactly what your main message is. A great way to do that is to create a simple formula for your main idea. Simple yet powerful work in advancing HEOR! #Transparency #HEOR #TrustworthyResearch #StakeholderTrust #HealthcareInnovation

I've been closely following the trends in healthcare, and one standout is the increasing significance of Real-World Evidence (RWE). Here’s why RWE is becoming a game-changer: 1. Real Insights from Real Patients: Unlike traditional randomized controlled trials (RCTs), RWE studies involve real patients in real-world settings. This provides a more comprehensive view of health outcomes and patient experiences. 2. Speed and Inclusivity: RWE studies can be conducted faster and include a diverse patient population, making the data more representative and timely. 3. Regulatory Acceptance: Major health agencies like the FDA, EMA, NICE, and CADTH are recognizing the value of RWE. They've issued guidelines on its use, emphasizing data quality and transparency. 4. Impactful Case Studies: In 2021, RWE was used as primary evidence for a new indication of tacrolimus in lung transplants in the US. This marked a significant milestone, showcasing the potential of RWE in regulatory scenarios. 5. ISPOR’s Leadership: ISPOR is leading the way in promoting RWE. Their initiatives focus on transparency and good practices, ensuring RWE studies are robust and reliable. RWE is not just a trend—it's transforming healthcare by providing actionable insights and supporting better decision-making. As we continue to embrace. RWE, we can look forward to more informed and effective healthcare solutions. #Healthcare #RWE #RealWorldEvidence #ISPOR #HealthEconomics #Innovation

What began as a discussion on analytics tools has evolved into a personal project utilizing ChatGPT to identify the top analytics products across various environments and categories. Therefore, the decision isn't merely about selecting one product over another but rather about determining the optimal combination of products based on specific needs, resources, skills, and budget constraints. I hope that this report will benefit individuals and organizations seeking to refine their analytics software strategy. For those interested in accessing the raw data we collected from ChatGPT, a data source link can be found on slide #3 of the report. Your thoughts and perspectives on the topic are welcome.

Linkage of RWE sources is becoming a key part of the narrative overall data collection strategies. The worlds of data generated from site-mediated, patient-mediated and real world data collection are colliding, but as many of us know, it’s far from straight forward as to specifics on when and where this can be applied. Precision in the evaluation of potential real world data sources, and true understanding of data linkage is vital in ensuring your data strategy and regulations are starting to catch up. Click here https://hubs.ly/Q02DTxHg0 to join my colleagues from Navidence as they discuss this topic with our friends at Castor.

"What can predictive analytics actually do in a pharma campaign? 🤔" Essentially, the technology analyzes historical data and real-time data to predict future outcomes. Let’s put this into a pharma marketing context: Imagine a customer is enquiring about a drug through an AI-powered chatbot on the pharma company’s website. The chatbot provides the relevant details, and in addition, also recommends other relevant medication. The customer is then put into contact with a pharma rep with the help of the chatbot for a more in-depth discussion. This process is what it looks like from the customer’s point of view. But if we flip it to the pharma marketer’s perspective, you will see the following: When the customer types in the question, the algorithm quickly goes over the customer’s activity history and previous inquiries. During the engagement, the chatbot generates real-time insights and analyzes which part of the conversation is going well or sub-optimally. Based on the customer response and history, the AI predicts the best action to recommend and guides the next step, which is to talk to a pharma rep To summarize, predictive analytics takes in past and real-time data, makes a prediction on what will most likely happen, and provides the best plan of action. Of course, an effective predictive analytics system requires sophisticated data management skills and programs in store. But the investment will undoubtedly pay off, given the immense benefits that it can bring, including improved customer targeting, experience, and retention. inspired by IMD https://lnkd.in/gbjwB37W #pharmamarketing #omnichannelmarketing #CX #genai #leadership

Identifying hidden connections and intricacies within mountains of data has been an ongoing challenge for conglomerates like pharma. The core of NLP - 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 - is a promising tool that could be the answer. Here’s how it works: 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀: This is the first step to translating words into a numeral language for computers to understand and process. Here, each word is assigned unique numerical codes (ie vectors). Imagine assigning an address on a giant map to every medical terminology, but instead of just location, this address captures the semantic meaning and relationships to other words. 𝗔 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: Each 𝙫𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 (remember: each vector is a set of numerical codes for a word) is then plotted on or embedded in a multidimensional 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚. Words with similar meanings end up closer together in this space. Now, studying language becomes a fascinating problem of 𝙫𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚 mathematics! What’s really cool is that the 𝙙𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 within this space can hold specific meanings. In the classic example of King – Man + Woman = Queen, the difference between "woman" and "man" might represent "gender" in one direction, and "royalty" in another. Just for fun, what happens if we train the model in the direction of food and country? Germany - Japan + sushi = bratwurst Mexico - Italy + pizza = tacos Now, train the model in the direction of medical terms, we might get: Disease - Symptom + Treatment = Cure Drug - Mechanism of Action + Side Effect = Adverse Reaction As it turns out, the power of word embedding lies in the model’s training and learning the complex and nuanced relationship between words. This opens up a world of possibilities in pharma, such as: Faster Drug Discovery: Analyzing massive amounts of scientific literature, proprietary reports, and raw data to identify potential drug targets and their connections to specific diseases, leading to faster breakthroughs. Improved Patient Safety: Scanning patient safety reports and social media conversations can help detect subtle patterns that might indicate side effects, potentially improving patient safety. Can you think of other ways the word embedding technology could be used? #pharma #NLP #AI #wordembeddings #futureofhealthcare

Dilemma story: To reveal or not! The prisoner's dilemma is a paradox in decision analysis in which two individuals acting in their own self-interests do not produce the optimal outcome. There is one more aspect added to Prisoner's dilemma after "Haysom" double murder in Virginia alleged by Elizabeth Haysom and her boyfriend, Jens Söring. On the morning of April 3, 1985, the bodies of Derek and Nancy Haysom were discovered. In 1987, Elizabeth Haysom pleaded guilty to two counts of accessory to murder before the fact and was sentenced to 90 years in prison. Jens Söring pleaded not guilty, but was found guilty at his 1990 trial and sentenced to two consecutive life terms for first-degree murder. 1. If both had remained silent, there was no evidence with police and both would have been freed 2. If one would have turned government witness, the other would have got electric chair. 3. If both would have confessed to the crime, they would have got lesser punishment. 4. However, both put the blame on other for the murder and both got the same sentence as committing the crime individually.
