There are two different directions corporate blockchain infrastructure is heading. What they share is understanding the needs of the customer. 1) Big institutions don’t care about the same things small creators care about. They care less about gas costs and more about stability, reliability, ubiquity, and a deep bench of OG developers. 2) While they care about #1, they also care about custom ecosystems based on proprietary customer data that fulfill their customers' exact needs. So, it’s possible the big chains today won’t get adopted quite as expected. The best example of this is what Telegram is doing with the TON blockchain, an L1 custom-built for their customers and the wider ecosystem the brand is establishing. Perhaps the biggest takeaway is this: ✅ Understand your customers. They will dictate the future. They are what matters in web3. 🚫 Not popular meta opinions and narratives floating around on Crypto Twitter, LinkedIn, or Farcaster. KOLs are not more important than your customers. Famous crypto VCs who write books are not more important than your customers. Vitalik is not more important than your customers. Satoshi and the Bitcoin whitepaper are not more important than your customers.

Long-time crypto insiders with control issues are starting to realize that web3 is about celebrities (Iggy Azalea) and things beyond their control (influencers, whales, BlackRock, and regulators). And they can't do a damn thing about it. They are realizing that Farcaster is not really a social network; it's more like a private developer slack group with channels. They are seeing that their blockchain projects are not interesting to the world outside of blockchain itself. They are coming to these realizations not because their logic is flawed, but because they are on a journey of becoming. Impact-driven businesses eventually realize they must become purpose-driven. One is judged on how it impacts the external world, while the other is internal and sourced from within*. One works from the outside in, the other from the inside out. It is a profound realization. In storytelling, the plot isn't about how the protagonist changed the world -- in the end, it is how those events changed the protagonist, leaving us breathless. Because we can relate. Because we can FEEL it. The feeling is what lingers and matters as we journey along our own arc. The world doesn't change because you are using a new technology that can bring about "mass adoption". The world changes inside each and every one of us. Every day. It doesn't matter if Iggy Azalea overshadows everyone in the space inside of a week. These are external perceptions driven by emotions at scale that make up crypto markets, and they are bigger than all of us. They say Rome wasn't built in a day, but that's unhelpful advice. It first existed as a feeling within each person. So, instead of shouting into empty rooms about how the world ought to work, focus on the impact you want to make. Then take steps to get there within your line of sight. That journey starts within and emanates outward.

I joined LiveNOW from FOX to address the latest US #ceasefire proposal, which #Hamas is rumored to have accepted while removing its condition for a permanent withdrawal of the #IDF. The new proposal is aimed at releasing some of the remaining hostages, including soldiers in Phase 2. I explained why I am skeptical that this ceasefire will put an end to the war, citing - past record of similar discussions and #Hamas changing demands last minute or using the talks to waste time and regroup - that #Israel remains dedicated to finding a political solution to the ongoing conflict, including the release of the hostages - that #Israel is likely skeptical about the outcome of the new proposal, but wants to show its own commitment to problem solving - that Netanyahu is under pressure both to win the war and to get the hostages released by the families, who, in some cases, are more focused on getting the hostages released than on the other war objectives. - that I am particularly concerned given that the hostages are the last remaining leverage for #Hamas and they have no real reason to give them up so this proposal could be a trap - that #Hamas needs #Israel to leave #Gaza, and especially #Rafah, to regain access to tunnels and smuggling and rearm - that #Hamas will continue recruitment and regrouping in cleared parts of #Gaza but with fewer weapons - that it's exceptionally naive to trust #Hamas on any issue or think that a pause to release hostage could turn into a permanent #ceasefire given how many times #Hamas has violated previous "permanent ceasefires". - That Both #Hamas and #Hizbullah are feeling military pressure. The war with #Hizbullah at any other time would be considered full-fledged; the only thing missing is thousands of missiles in the air, but #Hizbullah is already firing hundreds over the border. That said, the IDF could still cause serious damage and the fact that #Hizbullah has promised to end the fighting if the war peters out even WITHOUT an official #ceasefire is very telling that they are looking for an excuse to get out of it. #Hizbullah's role here is clearly to ensure #Hamas survival. - It's naive to belive that #Hamas has any intention of ending its war on #Israel, given its dedicated genocidal effort, stated in its founding charter, to eradicating #Israel. The objective of its "resistance" is not the creation of a Palestinian state (in fact, they don't care about that at all), but the destruction of #Israel.

      April 22, 2024 ICYMI: Tuberville in Daily Caller: A Fed-Controlled Digital Dollar Could Mean The End Of Freedom In America WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville penned an op-ed in the Daily Caller calling for the Senate to take up stablecoin legislation to ensure the U.S. maintains its competitive advantage. Read excerpts below or the full op-ed here. “Central bank digital currencies (CBDC) are a threat to liberty. Sixty-eight countries, including communist China, are exploring the possibility of issuing a CBDC. CBDCs are essentially government-sponsored cryptocurrencies pegged to the value of a national currency that allow for real-time payments. The European Union has a digital euro CBDC pilot program, and all BRICS nations(Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) are working to stand up CBDCs. China’s CBDC pilot, the largest in the world, is being used by 260 million individuals. While faster payments are a positive for markets and economic growth, CBDCs present major risks. They would allow governments to meticulously monitor transactions made by their citizens, and CBDCs open the door for government planners to limit the types of transactions made. Power corrupts, and no government should have that level of control. No wonder China and other authoritarian regimes around the globe are eager to implement a CBDC. Governments that issue CBDCs could prohibit the sale or purchase of certain goods or services and more easily freeze and seize assets. But that would never happen in the U.S, right? Don’t be so certain. Take a look at recent events in our neighbor to the north. The government of Canada shut down bank accounts and froze assets of Canadian citizens protesting the COVID-19 vaccination in Ottawa during the winter of 2022. With a CBDC, authoritarian actions of this kind would be even easier to execute. To make matters worse, the issuance of a CBDC by the Federal Reserve, the U.S.’s central bank, has the potential to undermine the existing banking system. The exact ramifications of what a CBDC would mean to the banking sector are unclear, but such a development could position the Fed to offer banking services directly to American businesses and citizens, undercutting the community banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions that currently serve main street effectively.” Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and is a member of the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP Committees.
