What do you do if you want to connect with other writers online?
LinkedIn is an easy way to meet and build relationships with other writers. By sharing your expertise and perspective in relevant posts and making meaningful comments on other writers' posts, you can build a strong network. And a strong network helps us succeed and provides support from people who understand us.

How can introverted writers network effectively?
Always give more than you take when networking. This means focusing on getting to know other people and helping them without expecting anything in return. Giving more than you take makes networking much easier for introverts. And it works better than aggressive networking. In Give and Take, Wharton professor Adam Grant reported that people who give their time, knowledge, ideas, and connections to others without expecting anything in return (“givers”) are more successful than people who focus only on self-promotion (“takers”). By giving, we build trust and establish credibility. Ways to give include sending links to useful content, connecting colleagues to other people, and referring other freelancers to clients.

What are some tips for building a successful career in freelance writing?
Networking, LinkedIn, and direct email are the best ways to build your freelance business. But before you pitch your services, you need to have a compelling, client-focused LinkedIn profile and website to impress the clients you’re reaching out to. To develop these tools, you must understand the needs of your clients. Then write a clear, compelling LinkedIn profile and website content focused on how you meet client needs. Write your key client-focused marketing messages (headlines and subheads) and highlight your expertise, skills, and work (usually through samples). For your LinkedIn profile, focus on your headline and About. Makes sure you use “freelance writer” in both places; that’s how clients search for freelancers.
