“I found Keanna when I was stressed about my final round of interview. As a new grad who is switching career to tech during the tough time, I don't want to risk any chances. So I reached out to her for some advice and support after hearing recommendations of her from a friend. Keanna's recruiting experience and insider knowledge were evident throughout our sessions, particularly during our interview prep. She guided me in constructing my answers, ensuring that I highlighted all the crucial points that would make a lasting impression on the interviewer. She also researched the company prior to our session, and gave suggestions tailored to the company culture. She is very helpful in building confidence in me by conducting mock interviews and practicing common questions. The salary negotiation session with Keanna was also beneficial. Her encouragement to ask for more, along with her insightful advice tailored to my priorities, made a significant difference in how I approached this crucial aspect of the job offer. Knowing that Keanna had my back provided an added layer of confidence during these negotiations. In summary, Keanna's expertise, coupled with her genuine commitment to supporting her clients, makes her an excellent career coach. I'm grateful for her guidance and would highly recommend her to anyone seeking assistance in navigating the complexities of job interviews and salary negotiations.”

How can you improve your employer reputation by creating a positive candidate experience?
Candidate experience is key to success for any company. People will always remember how you made them feel, so to make a candidate feel good about your company, it's important to communicate effectively from start to finish. Call when you say you're going to call, give an update as soon as possible (even if it its a 'no update, update') and provide as much information about the role, team, and interview process as possible. If the candidate doesn't make it to the next round of interviews, give feedback so that they can learn and do better as they continue to search for their next role.

What should you avoid writing in a cover letter when applying for a promotion?
Cover letters should tell a short story about who you are, what you bring to the table, and why you are the best fit for the role based on the job qualifications. Before crafting your cover letter make sure you have a solid understanding of what the role entails. Reflect on what you've done in your current and past experiences that align with the promotion and explain how you will use what you've done and learned to succeed in the next role.

More than 100 college students came to Google's campus to connect with each other and with Googlers. They worked on open-ended AppEngine projects, learned how to navigate their career in CS, and built their skills through career and technical workshops. As a CodeU volunteer, I led students to appropriate buildings to attend specific workshops, assisted with setting up rooms to code in, and engaged with students about life at Google.

Body Love SJSU
Body Appreciation Week was held at San Jose State University in February 2016. We created an Instagram polaroid cut out and students were asked to take pictures with the cut out and post it on Instagram or any other social network site and hashtag #bodylovesjsu along with a caption saying "I love my body because...." This is a way to get student involved and also spread awareness by using the hashtag on social media so that others may be inspired to love their own body as well. **More team members contributed to this project, Gabriela Moran is one I have on Linkedin.

The Eddie Award
"Eddie Aikau was a beloved Hawaiian lifeguard and surfer who made daring rescues and routinely charged huge waves that others wouldn’t dare attempt. The locals honored him with the saying, “Eddie Would Go,” which became a well-known homage to their hometown hero. At Crossover, we recognize and pay respect Eddie with our own awards to honor the team members who embody the courageous, selfless spirit of “Eddie Would Go.”" - http://crossoverhealth.com/2017-bamboleo/
