Yesterday, I watched a segment on CBS's morning show about the New Balance brand. They're in the process of taking on their key competitors by having a strong blend of fashion focused and enhanced performance apparel and shoes. The company is so committed to taking market share from their competitors, that the CEO wouldn't even mention (Nike,Under Armour, Addidas, Reebok, etc.) in the interview. They're bringing in elite fashion designers and leveraging influencers (from both athletes and fashion) as part of their ongoing campaign. So far, the overall rebrand process appears to be working as they had an approximate revenue gain of 23% last year. Watching the segment got me thinking about how companies/brands can penetrate new market segments and retain their core customers by ongoing PR and Marketing efforts. The key for any brand is to keep the momentum going after having a successful quarter launch, campaign, announcement etc. Influencers are a tremendous way to grow your brand and attract new market segments if it's executed properly. Earlier this month, we announced that Dwayne The Rock Johnson is using Simple Bundles for his new men’s skincare brand. It’s quickly become one of our favorite examples 😍 Here’s why: - Each bundle serves a specific purpose (tattoo care, face care, starter bundle, etc). - When you hover your mouse over each product bundle, the image changes and highlights a benefit of that bundle. For example, the tattoo bundle says, “improves tattoo appearance.” - The bundle descriptions are very clear and focused on the benefits. - There’s an upsell on each page saying “pairs well with” to highlight other complementary products. - When checking out, individual products from the bundle are broken down into separate components (making it easier to pick and pack the orders, and for buyers to see every individual item they purchased clearly).

Over the past few weeks, headlines about the fate of the Fearless Fund venture capital firm have been discussed in publications including Forbes, Fortune, The Washington Post, NPR and AP News.
