Warby Parker reports Q1 sales growth 👏 The American eyewear retailer has announced a 16.3% increase in Q1 net revenue, an increase of $28m year-on-year. The success can partly be attributed to opening 8 new stores during the quarter, taking the full total up to 245 stores. In terms of full-year performance, Warby Parker expects to achieve sales growth between 12.5% and 13.5%, as well as opening a further 40 stores. Dave Gilboa, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Warby Parker, commented: "We are encouraged to see strength in single-vision glasses as well as efficiencies across media channels, driven by our team’s strong marketing execution. Fashion is failing to close the loop, with North Americans buying and discarding more textiles than ever. 📢 Retail oversupply and damage leads to $163 billion worth of inventory being discarded annually, while liquidation and returns form a $761 billion industry in the U.S. every year—95% of which could be reused. Despite these challenges, circularity doesn't have to be overwhelming. Here are three ways retailers can help close the loop in eCommerce: Resale and Reuse ⭕: Retailers can extend product life by partnering with platforms for resale and reuse. This approach reduces waste while preserving value. Sustainable Materials ♻️: Brands can source sustainable materials to design products with reuse and recyclability in mind, reducing environmental impact from the outset. Consumer Education💡: With nearly half (49 percent) of consumers unaware that extending a garment's life reduces its environmental footprint, education and awareness campaigns are essential to shift mindsets. ⮕ Given that almost one in five people still throw reusable goods in the trash, it's critical for more market players emerge to support retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands in their circularity efforts.

"HanesBrands said on Wednesday it would sell its sportswear brand Champion to Authentic Brands Group in a deal valued at $1.2 billion, as the company looks to streamline business and focus on its innerwear categories. Shares of HanesBrands surged 15.6% in premarket trading. The deal could reach up to $1.5 billion through an additional contingent cash consideration of up to $300 million based on achievement of performance thresholds.
