Here’s a glimpse of the key insights: - Value in healthcare is defined as a function of patient outcomes achieved in relation to costs of delivering these outcomes. - In absence of #AI reimbursement a robust, multidimensional #ROI calculation should be considered. - AI platforms provide multiple workflow and clinical benefits beyond what stand-alone apps can offer. - Current predominance of narrow AI algorithms is likely responsible for limited adoption of AI. - Newer AI models are being developed that can perform tasks that more closely resemble the actual work of radiologists but are not in clinical use yet. The rise of Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASCs) is transforming healthcare around the world! Virtual care has proven to be an effective tool, yielding high patient satisfaction without adverse safety events, according to a study published in JAMA Network Open. Focused on remote radiation oncology care, the study revealed that patients rated virtual care as good or very good, with nearly all avoiding adverse safety events. The remote model significantly reduced travel burdens and costs for patients, with substantial mileage and cost savings reported. Among nearly 3,000 patients surveyed from 2020 to 2022, 98% expressed high satisfaction, and most safety events posed no harm to patients. Researchers emphasized the benefits of remote care, including enhanced access to clinicians, reduced travel, and significant cost savings.
