    Each year, Citrix hosts Synergy, our biggest and most important conference for customers and partners. We used this opportunity to engage employees, enhance the company culture, and help employees understand the company strategy.

    The results: 101% increase in keynote and streamed session viewing; Citrix employees shared 14,500 posts via LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter in Q2 (27% increase YoY), which contributed to 17,200 visits to the Citrix website (40% YoY increase); 95% of employees…

    Each year, Citrix hosts Synergy, our biggest and most important conference for customers and partners. We used this opportunity to engage employees, enhance the company culture, and help employees understand the company strategy.

    The results: 101% increase in keynote and streamed session viewing; Citrix employees shared 14,500 posts via LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter in Q2 (27% increase YoY), which contributed to 17,200 visits to the Citrix website (40% YoY increase); 95% of employees agreed that they could more easily explain what Citrix does as a business after Synergy than they could six months prior; and 98% of employees agreed they were more inspired about the future of Citrix than they were before Synergy.

    I was one of 17 speakers at the Measurement for Employee Communications conference. I spoke about creating a year-long or multi-year employee communications strategy that is directly aligned with business goals and employee engagement.     Over the course of two years, Citrix employees witnessed a restructuring of the workforce, executive turnover, product line adjustments, changes to the composition of the board, a new strategy and a layoff. Trust in leadership had declined and employees lacked confidence in the company’s new direction, as well as their own ability to contribute to it. Engagement overall had fallen significantly. We built a multi-faceted plan to boost employee engagement and retention.

    The result: Citrix saw an 80 percent improvement in its Net Promoter Score, saw an increase in employee retention, along with significant improvements across the board in employee engagement.

    The intranet blog at Citrix is the key way to engage with company strategy and vision, and connect with the rest of the company. As Citrix was going through significant change, individual posts were getting less and less attention and engagement. We revamped the blog in order to boost employee engagement and understanding of the most important aspects of the company.

As Citrix was going through significant change, individual posts were getting less and less attention and engagement. We revamped the blog in order to boost employee engagement and understanding of the most important aspects of the company.

    Results: Views increased by 46%, likes by 60% percent and comments by 94%. The organization’s engagement survey measured a 42% year-over-year increase in employees believing that Citrix has clearly defined its long-term strategy to achieve its vision, and an 11% year-over-year increase in employees who believed the organization’s internal communications department kept them informed with relevant information.
