Volunteer Experience

  • Co Administrator

    Discord Server - Keyframers Club

    - Present 4 years 4 months

    Education

A few motion design colleagues and I started this Discord group in the spring of 2020, to critique each other's work! It quickly expanded to a big social community where we can celebrate each other's triumphs, commiserate over failed renders and broken expressions, help troubleshoot and problem solve, share inspiring works we found, and trade resources. We accept all motion designers who want to join! https://discord.gg/ZPtZJPXQjf

    Volunteer

    Portland Children's Museum

    - 1 year 7 months

    Children

I volunteered in the clay studio/glaze corner -encouraging kids to think of creative stories based on their clay creations, and helping bring their creations to life with shiny paint! Every month had a different theme and new exhibits/events to help out with. The Portland Children's Museum was dedicated to making visible the ways children think, imagine, design, invent, and create when given intelligent materials including the tools of the arts and sciences. I’m so sad that they had to close…

    Education

I volunteered to work shifts cooking for New Avenues for Youth's "drop in" meals, for 50, sometimes up to 200, teens.

NAFY believes that every young person should have food, shelter, and access to education and job training and that we must go beyond meeting those basic needs by offering programs that heal young lives and nurture growth and independence. Our mission is to work in partnership with our community to prevent youth homelessness and provide homeless and at-risk young people…

I stuffed backpacks with supplies (crayons, pens, pencils, glue sticks, rulers and spiral notebooks) that helped send kids in need back to school with the tools they need to succeed! Over 1,000 backpacks were distributed to young students whose families are experiencing severe economic hardship this year. http://www.foothillfamily.org
