He labels Big Data as “the frontier of a firm’s ability to store, process, and access (SPA) all the data it needs to operate effectively, make decisions, reduce risks, and serve customers.”2 He emphasizes that a big data must be actionable for both IT and business professionals for it to be truly useful. So, how on earth do we collect, compile, cleanse, organize, and analyze a mind boggling amount of data? It all begins with excellent data management and data hygiene.
