    My wife and I decided to volunteer as Junior High Awana (TREK) leaders. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. We had the privilege to interact and grow with these kids to see them question life and their faith and develop a foundation on Christ. I wrote the spiritual survival guide for the young men of this group to help them prepare for life's challenges. It was such an amazing time for my wife and I. I had to deploy and didn't get to finish out the year with them.

    During my time at the Naval Academy, Ron Koehler and the Navigators team were my family. It helped me develop my own identify in Christ and to root myself in Him. I was blessed to have great friends and a tremendous mentor in Ron. My weekly meetings with him were invaluable. I was blessed to be a member, to lead small group bible studies for my company, and to participate as a member of the worship team. I was also able to teach a couple times on spiritual identity formation.

    Education

    While on deployment I set up a mens biblestudy going through the book Wild at Heart. What an amazing time we had sharing, fellowshiping, and growing. We had about 10 men meet every sunday for prayer, study and fellowship. Some of these guys became great friends and we have kept in touch ever since. I also played on the Contemporary service worship team at Camp Eggers as a drummer.
