How can you manage ambiguity in program management?
Ambiguity mechanically can be treated similar to risk: does the ambiguity need to be reconciled and, if so, what is the effort required to reconcile it? Or may it continue to exist without impacting realization of benefits? If the latter, then it is important for subject matter experts to be able to articulate it exists and why it is not being reconciled--at which point stakeholders can consider themselves fully informed. If the former, then a whole host of options may be needed as a remedy (and really depend on the context). At the end of the day, trust is a huge accelerator to ensure unreconciled ambiguities don't distract from the goals at hand.
