“First off, there's that glint in his eye. John is sharp, insightful, funny, and in the wee hours when you want to kill someone for promising the impossible, you can’t go for him, because John is in the trenches with you, working as hard, or more, than you! Kidding aside, John was always thinking, planning, plotting...in a good way. Making clients be creative, and helping creatives stay motivated, and be accountable. No small feat. His hunger and curiosity for the world was going to take him places… sí señor!”

Here's how you can build trust for effective delegation.
"I TRUST my Integrated Ad Sales Marketing team." If you feel that you too can say these words in whatever your chosen profession/specialization, then trust and believe that you too have put in the hard work. Lead by example. Never micro-manage. Encourage others to take risks. Provide constant real-time feedback for each other and get folks to get comfortable with the uncomfortable. There's a reason why you built and hired them in the first place, they got this. Trust is nurtured, gained and should exist in an environment of complete respect - never settle for workplace toxicity and know your value.

Here's how you can navigate obstacles in decision making in Creative Strategy.
We all know the saying "There's no such thing as a bad idea." In leading varied marketing and creative teams over the years, I've learned that "Collab Thinking" is much like the ocean - the process (like the waves) will ebb and flow and at times can even crash. As a creative leader you must develop a muscle to read the room (or your zoom) in which direction your team's thoughts are flowing during a brainstorm. Long ago I learned about "Divergent (broad) vs. Convergent (focused) Thinking" Each is equally important and imperative to a successful group ideation - just know when to use each and DO NOT mix the two. I like to rapid fire first (no judgements) then revisit, toss, select, tweak and build on to develop best concepts. ;-)
