“I worked with John on the Executive Committee (EC) of the Society of Plastics Engineers, where he was a senior EC member and my mentor. John is an exceptional leader and manager, rising to Secretary and then Treasurer of the 20,000 member organization. He served as an insightful strategic guide in financial performance, setting goals and energizing groups to work toward the benefit of SPE. I highly recommend John as a manager, as a leader, as a science resource and as a valuable additional to any organization. John walks the the walk on getting results, building teams and getting the best performance from everyone. While Treasurer of SPE, he developed charts to show the breakdown of the various factors in financial results which I still use as the current Treasurer. As Secretary, he tracked and managed the record keeping of Council, of Finance Committee, of Executive Committee as well as the general business meetings of SPE in excellent form, while contributing to discussions and keeping track of all the details (no small feat when taking minutes.) He also had the ability to see core issues in complex situations (whether people or products) and influence non-reporting groups to help solve the problems. John is a genuinely nice all around person, and an asset to any organization and firm. I was proud to work with him in SPE and hope to work with him again.”
