A11y Jump Menu: HackDay Winner - Best Overall
We're introducing the A11y Jump Menu, an extension for LinkedIn keyboard users to quickly navigate to different parts of a page without the use of a mouse. Works as a hidden feature that does not appear for regular mouse users. The extension is implemented in a performant way that does not impact page load speeds.

Gangnam inStyle: HackDay Winner - Judge's Favorite
We inserted an easter egg into the introduction page of the New LinkedIn Profile. It never went live, but it was loads of fun to take photos, edit photos, dance, and modify a page to animate and move to the music using CSS3!

It started out as a hobby. Then I got asked to take photos as a favor. Then I eventually met most of the event coordinators. The rest is history.

No Mo' Stalk[in]': HackDay Winner - Judge's Write-In (Every Big Social Network Should Have One)
-
LinkedIn is the only big social network left where you cannot completely block a member from looking at your profile. Having a stalker is a real thing, and we have no ability to allow members to block their stalkers. It's unnerving to see in your email or profile sidebar: "[Your stalker] has viewed your profile." Or maybe you have a headhunter that won't leave you alone and is really adamant that you're ruining your career by not responding to him. This hack fixes this problem, and lets you…

E*TRADE "Sliding Doors" minitabs

In the long long ago of a table-layout E*TRADE website and browsers that could only increase text size on "Zoom", I created and introduced a CSS based "widget" for use across the site with simple CSS and semantic HTML. It used a variation of the "Sliding Doors" method to allow users with bad vision to see the tabs properly. It is still prevalently used throughout the site today (2013). If I could go back in time, I'd tell myself to make it class instead of an id, though, since I did not foresee…
