Be clear about professional development goals and how your growth is an asset to the organization. It helps to have done some research on trainings and events you would like to attend and costs. Ask to have this built into your compensation package.

How can you prioritize long-term goals over daily tasks?
2 things to consider are the 1) Who not How concept. Who is the right person or persons to help accomplish the long term tasks or the daily and repetitive tasks. Delegating is a key skill to help leverage your time and focus. And 2) Time blocking, batching and automation help allocate time where needed and condense time where needed.
