If you are hiring, here are a few leads for you and your recruitment teams: Healthcare: 🏥 University Hospitals (Cleveland, Ohio): Reduced the health system’s leadership structure by more than 10% as part of the elimination of more than 300 executive and leadership positions. 🏥 Glenwood Regional Medical Center (West Monroe, LA): 20 employees have been laid off. Specialties impacted unknown at this time. 🏥 Santa Paula Hospital (Santa Paula, CA): Santa Paula Hospital’s birthing center and intensive care unit (ICU) is set to be closed down after a budget approval that happened Monday night by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. Nurses, support staff, and potentially physicians are likely to be impacted due to this closure. Communications: 💻 University of Texas at Austin (Austin, TX): About 20 employees in the communications department have been impacted. Marine Industry: 🛥 Mercury Marine: Announced a reduction in workforce of 300 employees at its Fond du Lac global headquarters, which will take place now through July, as well as some adjustments to overall operations in Wisconsin, St. Cloud, Florida, and Juarez, Mexico. EMS / Non-Emergency Transportation: 🚁 Life Flight Networks: (Pacific Northwest: OR, WA, ID, MT) 80 employees will lose their jobs after MetroWest will be taking over nonemergent transport. #healthcare #recruitment #layoffs #talentacquisition

Telehealth has grown significantly since the pandemic, but it's still not fully living up to its potential. Former U.S. Rep. Weekly recap of layoffs in healthcare: 🏥 Novant Health (North Carolina and South Carolina): 90 employees impacted in York County, SC and another 81 across North Carolina. Novant said the layoffs are coming after a new IT model was announced in 2023. As a result, some of the company’s Digital Products and Services (DPS) functions have been moved to an external partner. 💊 Walgreens (Nationwide) : Walgreens plans to close a “significant portion” of its roughly 8,700 stores in the U.S., Wentworth said. The company didn’t share a specific figure, but said it is reviewing one-quarter of its stores that are underperforming financially. Walgreens has already closed hundreds of stores over the past few years. 🏥 Kaiser Permanente (Pleasanton, CA): Recently eliminated 51 IT positions, including 33 in the past two months that were included in data from the state’s Employment Development Department. 🏥 Garnet Health (Orange County, NY): Laying off 26 employees to save $4.6 million in salaries and benefits as it announced a restructuring plan at the close of the business day on Monday. Eliminated positions include a mix of management, union and non-union staff. Recruiters and Sourcers: It looks like IT and the Pharmacy industries have been hit hard this week.
